I spent some time training at Team 3D Academy when Chris Melendez was there. The nicest and hardest working guy you'll ever meet in your life.
@arostwocents2 ай бұрын
Melendez sucked big time. I respected what he had achieved but it was crazy that they kept pushing him. Impact was more popular elsewhere in the world and the US army is seen as a force representing true evil, not something amazing and positive, where the people part of it are at best dupes and at worst complicit in enabling the empire to have a negative impact on the entire world. 👎
@arostwocents2 ай бұрын
The US army has been part of crimes against humanity since their inception yet the propaganda works to make you all think they represent freedom 😂 while occupying over 100 nations 😂
@arostwocents2 ай бұрын
Learn what the US did regarding trade on the border during the NK famine to deliberately make it a lot worse and cause people to starve. Then ask yourself who is the evil side. The side who just wants to stay in their own country and have freedom to not be part of the US financial system, or the country that is targeting farmers to deliberately cause destitution and starvation 👎 when the suffering of the working class means nothing to the US when they are doing it themselves. You think another nation is going to look at you causing their working class massive suffering and say 'yeah, they represent freedom and morality and all positive things, let's allow them to use our nation financially like the rest of the world' ? 😂

Melendez, to me, is in the category of "wrestlers I randomly remember for no reason at all" and I was still watching TNA at that time. He wasn't bad in the ring, just not as advanced or experienced enough. Maybe doing dark matches before tapings or working the indies (with TNA's permission) would have helped him in the ring because he's super basic. Not good but not bad either. Just meh. Speaking of legs, Dustin Thomas has no legs but, to my knowledge, has wrestled 8 matches in his career so far so he would count for Ring Of The Hawk if you're able to find them.

@thebeatdownclowns42762 жыл бұрын
I liked this story arc lol. The feud with Eric Young was kind of a perfect hero's tale. He can't compete against two-legged wrestlers, even with his prosthetic. So he bets it, for one more shot at respect. Loses it all. Learns to fight without the prosthetic and then finally. FINALLY. Wins a match and gets his leg back. One of the greatest wrestling stories ever told.
@arostwocents2 ай бұрын
He wasn't a character you liked or had any sympathy for. Their US Audience was tiny compared to the rest of the world. His gimmick should have been he saw the army for what it was and was furious he lost his leg to make rich men richer. That would have worked a lot better. He would have been a big time heel in the land of dupes for pro war propaganda and a massive face everywhere else. Gimmicks that reach into real life issues is how you grow wrestling. Imagine him standing against the US occupying Syria and stealing their oil - it would actually grow the business as people who don't normally watch would want to see the gimmick either to support it or be furious at it, like Austin appealed to those who hated their boss.

I was watching Impact during this time and it was maddening they kept doing this. It felt they had no jobbers so whenever you had someone new come in with some promise they usually lost.....even to Robbie E. Along with Chris Melendez not getting a chance and being set up to fail, neither did Santana Garett (Brittany), Samuel Shaw, Taeler Hendrix, Joey Ryan (which now I'm completely okay with), or Joe Hendry. Those are ones I can come up with off the top of my head and as far as I remember they didn't get booked in a way you could get behind them.
