Huge RVD fan here, but imo him being Mr TNA was just wrong. I believe what made Christian's TNA run good was how even though he initially never lost by pin fall as champion, he still wrestled like he did in WWE where he had to overcome the odds. Same with Rhyno. Kurt was already a main eventer in WWE so his reign meant nothing to me. RVD's on the contrary just felt weird to me. He deserved more in WWE like Christian, but the "more" he got in TNA could've been better had he not been booked like a god most of the time.

Marky please review Lockdown 2008 if you haven’t. It’s one of my favorite non x-division TNA matches.

Rob himself has come out and said that he was on autopilot on his first TNA run. AJ iirc even referenced it when they had him do a worked shoot promo in the build to his BFG match against Bully Ray

Desmond Wolf's ring gear in his title shot (6:40) looks like Local Jobber #7 for a squash match. (RVD always looks like a bum, so it doesn't stand out as much...)

Hate to "actually," but the RVD match at Hardcore Justice was supposed to be against classic rival Jerry Lynn (at the time recently former RoH champion and could still definitely go) but he sustained an injury close to the show and it was changed to Sabu, which even before it happened the general consensus was that it would be a less good match.

He made an appearance on AEW of all places of course for a pay day, but then receeded into obscurity again. Is he working backstage on creative or is their creative staff that stupid to not use him well. He's got way more charisma and is more over than even their 4 pillars and current champion.

WWE running out of people to induct in their "not so great" HoF One crackhead who talks about legalizing weed and featured in the video above got introduced, definitely not too long until the other crackhead, who is high even during matches, gets introduced too

To me RVD is like Kane. In the sense that you can use them however you want but it only takes a few big wins to make them credible main events again. We kinda need more guys like that, not every main eventer should hog the spotlight all the time imo.
