Wow. It's the best show that I have seen from the 90's. Jimmy is clean and sober and killing it. Probably his best since 1977 Listen to this Eddie bootleg. Heartbreaker solo is really awesome. Because there is no downtuning, everything played in the original key, it sounds even better TO ME than the O2 concert. Although I miss Jonesy.

Some envious people say that Jimmy is sloppy and only plays well in the studio. If it were true he wouldn't be considered guitar god, for me he's the best ever. There was a programme on T.V., showing a pensioner lady, who kept going on about the BLUES. She realised things about the BLUES that no-one else would realise. Her particular favourite was Eric Clapton. She realised things about HIS BLUES style, others just wouldn't realise! Do it wasn't just bias, that she turned out to be his granny! That lady was so endearing, I would have liked to have had her cloned, so she could have been related to ME , as well! DEEJAYENPS

About Jimmy Page, I love everything he plays, with Led Zeppelin or with other musicians, I hear him not only with my ears but also with my heart, mind and soul, so maybe I “feel“ his songs, he's just amazing! I’ve heard Stairway To Heaven thousands of times, in hundreds of different versions, and I still get goosebumps when the solo starts.

@@eternityjackson3564 LZ never played in pubs although they played in tiny clubs in 1968 before the LZ I album was released. Page was well known studio player before Led Zeppelin era, since 1963. In 1964 he played guitar on Rolling Stones record "Heart Of Stone", in 1968 he played solo guitar part in very famous Joe Cocker version of song "With a Little Help From My Friends". Since 1963 till 1968 he played guitar on the records of many famous bands and singers like: The Who, Yardbirds, Cliff Richards, Johny Holliday, Jeff Beck, Donovan etc. Keith Richards was never his idol even if he very appreciated Rolling Stones as the band.

@@vlsmitt You see, these were all small places, because a studio is even smaller than most nightclubs or pubs. And Richards was already world famous with world famous hits and riffs when the younger Page was still an unknown nobody on the world stage. He admired him, but that's completely natural and nothing bad, you don't have to resist it. Page loved and admired unique guitar riffs and their creators. He wasn't jealous, and that makes him a very good character and guitar champ.

We were about the same age, and they brought a totally different sound than the Beatles, Stones, the Who & Pink Floyd. Saw them twice as Led Zeppelin & twice as Page & Plant. Not sure why they never invited JP Jones to join them, but they are in my top 5 favorite bands ever.

I saw Led Zeppelin at Live AId, 1985, Philadelphia, RFK Stadium. All the bands only played 3 songs bcz there were so many bands. Zeppelin played "Black Dog," "Whole Lotta Love,' and "Stairway to Heaven." One of the highlights of my life!!! ZEPPELIN RULES!!!!!!!

Yes I have no idea until now! I've been doing rock and roll documentaries of my own going from band to band, and became fascinated with Led Zeppelin. I quickly decided Jimmy Page was the number one guitar player in the world ever and Robert Plant was the number one vocalist in the world ever. Robert Plant has done amazing things for decades.... Much like Mick Jagger and Paul McCartney, they keep moving forward - inspiring me to do the same. Lead guitarist like Jimmy Page and Keith Richards... They're so incredibly talented they just have to keep making music.

Yeah, isn’t this almost incredible ? Plant makes up for lost range with increased effort and “new” repertoire, and Page is like a Phoenix rising from the ashes. Back in the 80’s, Jimmy’s playing had taken such a nosedive that the occult talk became a silly gimmick, foolishness. Well in 98’( 95’-96’ had Jimmy climbing the ladder again, some early stumbling) Jimmy was just hitting one home run after another, playing new licks as well and almost shredding at times. Sloppy ? not this tour. I think many had written Jimmy off, as maybe even in 95’-96’ Jimmy was playing a lot of rhythm guitar and acoustic which didn’t allow for that much expression due to the meshing with the orchestras. Many shows “Unledded” Jimmy did play well, but 98’…..The 🧙‍♂️ had returned in full force.I don’t think there’s even one weak show on the tour ! Check these shows out !

Michael Lee and jimmy have that chemistry. Jimmy is very percussive kind of player. You can talk about his leads but his rhythm guitar playing is out of this world. Driving pounding rhythms. Love it !!!

Rock in 1980s came from producers Ron Nevison, Mutt Lange and Steve Lillywhite. There is no hint of Jimmy Page in anything they produced. You: "Pages influence on Rock n roll is timeless..." Saw this concert in Washington state George at the gorge full moon Jimmy page was on my side I was 10th row right side I thought page was on fire for that show ! The title song walking to Clarksdale kicked my ass live the lake drummer Michael Lee kicked ass rest in peace, Jimmy page pulling out the bow for how many more times was magical I really felt like I was being baptized by the rock God himself.

People always go on about how after 2007 O2 ...they wanted a zep tour...The point though is this.If they had toured , it wouldn't have been anything like the level of The page and plant tours of 95,96,98Both p@p were having the final blast of consistency, singing and playing guitar to a high level, playing some rare songs in the sets unlike all zep standards.Thank god they didn't ruin it after O2. With a tour.

It's a great point, Julian. I saw one of the '95 shows and it was an incredible testament to their reinvention and energy. It's hard to believe that they could have touched what they pull off here (and in other pro shoots from this era) nearly a decade later with JPJ and JB. As many have said on these videos, Michael Lee was the greatest drummer to play these songs since Bonham. No slight to Jason Bonham, but I've never heard him hit with the ferocity and groove of Michael.

Great concert. Huge Zep fan here. Cool to see Shining In The Light in this set list. Never had seen it played live until now. Also Babe I’m Gonna Leave You cool to see with this line up. I wish Plant Page had stayed together longer. The No Quarter and Walking Into Clarksdale albums were great. Charlie Jones was amazing on bass. And of course Michael Lee. What an amazing drummer. Still though it was weird they didn’t invite John Paul Jones to play with them again until the 2007 reunion.

Closest thing to led zeppelin since the drummers passing 9.25 80......as far as im.concerned..I saw phila corestates ctr..witch is now called wells fargo. ctr...July 16 .1998...it was so fantastic I drove up the nj.Turnpike to go to the old brenden Byrne arena ..that was called the continental arena on July 18. 1998.. I recorded both shows on my Sony d6...it was probably one of the greatest shows I've ever seen in my concert career.. ......I have this on a vcr tape from one of my friends somewhere..thx for posting ! Priceless !

I saw the Brisbane Australia show. Incredible. I was wayy up the back and you could hear the detail of J.P. change pickups. They opened! with Immigrant Song and Plant didn't hold back either. Such a shame there wasn't room for J.P.J. but can't complain if you saw these shows..

Not sure what’s meant by that. As far as recreating Zep, cannot be done. But Jimmy’s playing overall on this tour was amazing. He’s not sloppy, he has some new licks, almost no flubbing or mistakes( I love some of that stuff on even great Zep boots, but they’re mistakes and sometimes it can get annoying). I’ve run into other people who saw these shows and they couldn’t believe Page’s playing. To some the change in Jimmy’s appearance, a lot less hair and much more weight might disappoint. I don’t understand this, though, as soon as the show starts the master has returned. Unbelievable how feeble Jimmy played at the ARMS shows in 83’, and here he would frighten other players half his age.

Page stole the idea for the band from Big Brother and the Holding Company mixed with Blue Cheer and Moby Grape. He came up with idea to steal from these bands when he saw them while on tour with the Yardbirds in California. Page even went so far as to hire a Janis Joplin knock-off in Robert Plant. James Gurley was a far better blues rock guitarist than Page ever could hope to be. And by the time Physical Graffit came out, an 18 year old, Michael Schenker, had exposed Page for being a hack, having done so since he was 16. When Page was working on his wankery that would become the Firm, Yngwie Malmsteen re-defined rock guitar with Rising Force and Marching Out. Jimmy Page was a joke guitarist, a rank amateur at a time when amateurs were considered professionals because so few people were playing rock music. Listening to Page whether in Led Zeppelin, the Firm, or Plant-Page, in 2021, is so cringe. Good luck!

I could be wrong, but I feel that Page and Plant playing together after Led Zeppelin ended gives Plant more of the natural confidence he had. It's like he put on the glove that fits him so well.

Well for the better part of the 80s, Robert was intentionally putting distance from himself and Zep. As he became a more established a solo artist, integrating the heavier music felt more natural, especially with Jimmy.

oh tosh, he could be terribly sloppy and aimlessly noisable. They would have been much better with a rythym guitarist. no one can accomplish the texture in a song which was concieved with overdubs as was much of Zeps compositions. They required a second guitarist for best effect. Hey, fans didnt care, so thats that. But it is inaccurate to overlook page at the expense of denegrating others as reckless chaos, IMHO.

Not to compare 1 better than the other because it's what a person likes, there are players that are great you might never get exposed to if you do not listen to others. There are so many great guitar players out there today but no so back in the 1960's. The comp is much harder now than back in the 1960's.
