I’m 42 and I wear shimmer/glitter on my eyes everyday and I love seeing older women wearing fun makeup. You’re never too old to enjoy these things.

I’m 39 having a midlife crisis about turning 40 😂. Idk why I’m SO fixated but lately I’m like “i need to stop wearing makeup, when do I take my nose ring out, oh man it’s all over for me”. I know, a bit dramatic. I’m very active and I def feel young (in body, not in soul lol) but I’ve been struggling. Today I took a menty day because finals and hosting Christmas has me stressed and as I got ready to run errands I had a VERY RANDOM pull to wear a purple shimmery eye shadow. I have no such thing but now I’m seeing how stupid my thoughts have been. My grandma was a beautiful and fabulous woman and was always with her signature red lip. Why should I give up playing with makeup or trying to feel beautiful. As we get wiser, it’s intimidating to understand we aren’t what we were, but why should that matter!

I loathe rhe fact that so many creators and MUAs on social media say that a look isn't complete without false lashes. Most of us hate wearing false lashes and mascara and a eyelash cutler, used well, creates a beautiful eye look... 💜
@Thetinyfit3 сағат бұрын
Good thing lashes and mascara are “out”. I hate lash extensions! Lashes can look good but the extensions are always overkill
@VAwitchМинут бұрын
*IF* I were to ever bother with falsies, it'd be for a Very Important event where the lack-of-thick-lashes is more noticeable. I have long & decent-curl lashes, never been blessed w/ thick ones (though not sparse either). I don't have the time to fuss w/ false lashes along w/ the extra time to properly take off & clean them for re-use. My ADD says "Nope, you're getting cleaned up soon as possible, & you're putting on colorful but simple makeup" for 95% of my life.
@VAwitch30 секунд бұрын
@@Thetinyfit I didn't think mascara was out unless you mean the combo of falsie + mascara for uber-thickness & length?

Marlena, I received the samples of your new perfume line. I can’t praise it enough. It’s exquisite and the smell of each and every one is amazing. To say that you know it’s extremely special when my 24 year old daughter said oh mom what are you wearing because you smell so great? I am so confused about which one to order, I would order a few but I am on a tight budget. Congratulations to you

I don’t necessarily look for “natural” or “clean” makeup , but I have started looking into Non-Toxic makeup as they are hormone and endocrine system disruptors, - which I now have a problem with.

Same I hate the word « clean beauty » lack of preservative and name it! But I have autoimmune disease that causes hormonal problems, I look for product whitout hormone and endocrine system disruptors. I need to prioritize my health before cosmetics. I am happy for people who do not have this problem 💛

Some of the “rules” around makeup were because of formula issues as much as they were about the look. So, “don’t wear powder if you’re over 50 or have dry skin”- 10 years ago most powders were rather chalky looking and emphasized lines and wrinkles, and exacerbated dry skin. That’s not true now because technology has changed. It’s similar with “don’t wear glitter or shimmer on mature skin”. The formulas were not as good as they are now so if you had crepey eyelids shimmer and glitter formulas would call attention to it and generally didn’t lay down as smoothly. One of the reasons I watch makeup and beauty content is so I see the evolution of the product formulations- not just the changes in makeup looks, and can make changes to my own routine as things change and improve. Several of the products and even the colors I wear now at 50 years old didn’t work for me at 30 years old due to the limitations of makeup development at time.

Thank you so much for this video. First, because I have begged so many people not to store makeup and certain skin care in the bathroom. Secondly, I have been scared to mention this but this summer I started using CosRX based on the suggestion by many influencers, many you know, and my face and neck broke out but not acne after 3 weeks. I had sores that wouldn’t heal. Blisters everywhere. After a visit to my dermatologist and allergist the snail mucin were the suspected culprits. It possibly could’ve been something in the mix but the snail mucin was the only thing I had no previous exposure to. I realize this might not be a popular concept and that’s why I was scared to mention it. I really wanted the individuals that suggested these products, they are professional, so they would no and try to be aware for their other clients. I didn’t. The brand is so popular at the moment and honestly I enjoyed it until the disaster happened. Also, I don’t believe it is because it’s a Korean brand. I don’t care where a product comes from, clean or not clean, I believe any element could cause this. Thank you for giving good advice to keep your body healthy by the care you take with products. I do wonder if this happened to anyone else?

I have no idea how anyone who regularly wears makeup doesn't have at least 2 of each brush/sponge, especially if it's for something that you use for a wide variety of colors (like eye shadow brushes for main, crease or blending since most folks don't use just a single palette). My blushes are all cool-toned, so I only have 1 blush brush; but have 2 foundation brushes + several sponges so none are used more than 2x before a wash; and I probably have too many eye brushes but since I might wear cool tones on Monday & more neutral tones on Tuesday, it's easier to have multiples than keep washing the same one daily or muddy the colors. Worked fine during the 16 yrs I sold Avon before it became K-beauty themed & not much of a discount for customers; mom briefly sold MK before that; I've been wearing makeup for almost 40 yrs on my still oily & occasional acne-prone 51 y/o skin.

Everything has to be scent free for me or i get hives or break out.. its aweful. My daughter as well shes somehow worse than me. All lotions, body soap, laundry soap, fabric softener and the list goes on.

What about the theory that you can only wear certain colors and/or should never wear certain colors based on your eye color (I think this has gotten better but I always remember "You should never wear blue eyeshadow b/c you have blue eyes") Not to say that certain colors won't make them pop more but I think we should stop saying that you can't wear certain shadows or should only wear certain eye color shadows b/c of your eye color.

On and off when I'm to tired (old age lol) or get in late (younger & partying lol) and just want to get to be. I've been lucky to have never gotten an infection of any kind. Eyes or skin. No acne. Thank God. I'm glad you started your business again. I've been with you since your first separation when you where letting us know. You were wearing real pretty green eyeshadow. Oh and your baby is gorgeous. God bless your family.

Sleeping in your makeup doesn't cause eye infections. Just like using mascara past 3 months doesn't cause eye infections. Sleeping in your makeup may cause you to break out and sure as hell messes up your sheets,but other than that, nothing tragic will occur.

I recently bought a very high-end makeup pallette (a budget buster for me!) from one of the discount chains that I frequent, man I grabbed that pallette so fast! A beautiful presentation & It even has a mirror! After working with it off an on for a week, I closed it up & put it back in the box. Sooooo disappointed! I might take it on vacation because of the mirror. Another brand that is moderately priced, (at Ulta) I use regularly beats it hands down! Price is not always a guide. I recently threw out my white wet & wild makeup brushes after YEARS of use, they were never going to wear out 😅 & I have sooo many others.

So, I spent MY hard earned money to get the sample set of your new perfumes, and once I got them, I was greatly disappointed. I was only in love with one of them....the vanilla one, and it sucks because I can get any vanilla perfume for a FRACTION of the price. This is unacceptable. I didn't spend my money on a sampler set just to get use out of just one. I seriously want my money back. Honest feedback, go back to the drawing board and do better. There's no reason I can't get any use out of a sampler I paid for. Get it together, seriously.

Perfume is so subjective. What you obviously dislike, others will love. Everyone is entitled to an opinion-good or bad, but no need to be so rude. I hope you are ok because apart from the perfume thing, something must be going on in your life that’s hurt you to make you think such a comment is ok.
