Marlies Cocheret and Ellen Emmet 'The Feminine Face of God' Interview by Renate McNay
This is the first programme in a new series which will explore the subject of Women and Consciousness. In this exploration Spiritual Teacher and Psychologist Marlies Cocheret, and Ellen Emmet who is a Transpersonal Psychologist and a teacher in Non-Duality Yoga and Movement Therapy, talk about how it is to be a woman on the path of awakening and liberation. It is important to first know that what we really are is beyond female and male and form. We can then begin to learn to express ourselves in a balanced way and reach our full potential as Human Beings.

I really love this conversation; the exploration into embodiment with the encouragement to just be as we are, with intelligence, openness, softness, strength, clarity ~ however it appears. "The Feminine Face of God" Such a wonderful, rich arena for exploration and mutual self~discovery. I look forward the continuation of this series. Thank you so much!

Thank you for asking “where are all the women?” and taking action to search for them and then bring them and their perspectives out to a wider audience. We need these insights! Multiply this effort and be fruitful!

Wow...I feel like I waited so long for someone to put words to what I myself was feeling. Thank you so much for this! I have dismissed my own experience for so long comparing it to the masculine teachers I have followed, so grateful for this conversation. Such gentle powerful wisdom from all of you:)

BODY LANGUAGE - go to 4:05 - after Ellen makes her introductory comments watch Marlies body language as she makes a BIG SHIFT distancing herself from Ellen and see Marlies left shoulder - the one closest to Ellen - and note how Marlies positions her upper body against the right side of her chair - creating space between herself and Ellen - remember Marlies is a therapist - I am a huge believer in how body language speaks volumes about someone - and helps me to assess an individual especially when first meeting them -

@justinherbert9146, I’m not sure what you might be reading into Marlies moving herself in her seat at 4:05, but she is the only one who was given a pillow for support and, just guessing, maybe she is having some physical discomfort, totally unrelated to Ellen, and needed to make a big shift to get comfortable. My own observation. ❤

When I listen to Marlies I smile, and I feel my heart; it is like I am smiling from my heart. And Ellen's idea of the feminine art of descent is intriguing...

There’s a wonderful book by Sylvia Perrera ‘The Descent of the Goddess’ which came to mind when she was talking about that. Also the myth of Persephone of course.

I am not sure that a "man" does not need to be in a female body as Marklies said. Maybe, that is why "I" am watching this. There seems to be a difference in the masculine and feminine energy which is often sanitized by a kind of industrial society. It seems that only small children are able to animate in nature which is why they are actually not psychological but are attracted to insects, dogs, cats, ghinea pigs, and ducks. This natural propensity to animate in nature might be our physical body which is both male and female. Maybe this urge to seek a kind of spiritual replication of reality is a kind of mask that can no longer look from this animistic view. This animistic body is both male and female and needs be free to look at the whole space which is teeming with life and is beautiful. The female and male connection is sexual but not in a personal way. It animates with every life form. We substitute a kind of psychological understanding of the difference between male and female because the natural world has been stripped of its animism. There is a kind of female energy which wants to trim the flowers and cultivate the garden. The male energy can be fire and wants to strip the flower bed and throw the seeds to the wind. It is looking up into the sky. The female looks to the earth and wants conservation. It has more emotional tones. Both are necessary but they are not personal in nature. I am wondering if all this teaching about "resting" which comes from many satsangs is not always looking deep enough into this need for animism which has been lost especially in modern technological societies. We confuse the psychological with the spiritual which is not even totally human. It comes from all the animals and plants and rocks as well. Without this connection, we may be creating a kind of teaching which does not really move into the universal.
