My girlfriend ordered a jar of this and this stuff is GOOD. We're definitely trying the spaghetti. Taste is pretty strange but familiar at the same time. It opens up like liquid Bovril and finishes kind of like blue cheese. If you're into those you will be all over Marmite.

Hi Paula. You got me addicted to this about a year ago. I find myself going just a little more, just a little more, every time I dig into the Marmite jar. A few months back I was desperate for my marmite pasta but limited for time. I boiled a packet of Ramen noodles for 3 minutes and had my fix...uh..lunch. Now I do that at least once a week. Also have tried other noodles and rice. Of course now I like Marmite on toast and bagels. So good. Thank you so much for my absolute favorite new snack in ages. I can only get the tiniest jars of Marmite here so I get a couple every time I go to the store that carries it. You won't be mad if you sprinkle on some garlic powder before grating the parm. Thank you again! 👍❤😋

I’m ready to try this recipe and the fried rice one. My daughter came from the store last Saturday with a jar of Marmite, I asked well what is it , she’s like “I don’t know, people put it on toast. “ So she proceeded to have a taste, she didn’t like it and said it was very salty. So now I have a full jar of Marmite on my counter, well I wasn’t going to throw it away 😳 So I decided to look online for recipes and found yours!!! Can’t wait to try them. Thanks for sharing!

The big mistake people make is spreading marmite far, far too thickly. Brown bread toasted spread with real butter and just the lightest scraping of Marmite. It does not have even to be spread evenly. Just the lightest scraping here and there.

"Dinner for one, when I don't want to cook, curl up with a show, and probably eat in bed." MY KIND OF LADY. But seriously, I'm SO excited to give this a try soon. I've known about marmite and vegemite for a while but just tried it for the very first time yesterday and I enjoyed it as I expected I would. I've always been into rich umami type flavors like soy sauce, mushrooms, etc, so I felt like this would be right up my alley. I made it the classic way on buttered toast in a very thin layer to get the most basic proper experience with it. To me it smells like a mix of soy sauce and molasses. Really curious if you have ever tried nutritional yeast before?, it's another yeast byproduct and is this salty, sort of nutty cheesy powder, I LOVE it on popcorn especially. Thank you again for this awesome idea and look forward to trying it! Also, I have a feeling that a teeny sprinkle of nutmeg at the end would really add a pop to this pasta. 😉

I'll give this a try, thanks. Have to admit I really like your neutral expressions. 1:17 I've switched a few people. One of the best ways to serve it is on cold toast. Use your normal fat spread and after place just a small blob, 1/4 of a teaspoon on top. I've also got a few jars, was supposed to be for a friend from the states but due to the current situation. PS: it goes great with potatoes and fried onions. Try it with mash, if you use instant mash mix in the hot water first to lower it's viscosity.

LOVE marmite AND your cooking channel, but usually use it as seasoning rather than putting on toast, etc. I've been between a vegan and vegetarian for almost 50 years and probably feel better and healthier than most of my friends. When I married, my husband was already a vegetarian and told me I could eat meat but he wouldn't as he felt better without it. I had always dealt with menstrual problems and anemia so thought I shouldn't give up meat, but once I did, I never had further problems with anemia, etc. I think the key is not just to avoid meat, etc, but to understand what your body needs and get that from whatever sources you're willing to eat.

This is odd. I love marmite and just had some on toast and was watching marmite videos whilst eating for gastronomic purposes. So i sometimes do a quick pasta dish when i don't fancy much else which consists of cooked drained pasta with butter, ground black pepper and hard cheese shavings which is just like yours. So i see you added marmite to the equation. Will definitely try this and i just know it will lift the dish with umami flavours. Great video.

GREAT question Paula! Most of the time it's right in with all the other breakfast spreads - PB etc... but OCCASIONALLY it is in with the beef broth concentrates & soup powders. If you have anyone coming to visit from the UK it is a great thing to request they bring for you. The tubs are way bigger and it's way cheaper. My colleague in Wales brings me a 500ml jar every time he comes over. I should start a side business selling it!

Roast Potatoes. Brush some diluted Marmite over them, then back in the oven to finish. 😋

I came across your channel by accident. I don’t think marmite is easily available in US. It’s more a British item. Where do you get it in US? It’s quite expensive on Amazon

It’s literally available in every grocery store.

It is definitely cheaper in the UK, but available in most grocery stores. Sometimes it's near the peanut butter, other times it's with the boullion cubes!

You can find both Marmite and Vegemite online in Walmart in the US.

Marmite is like maggi, can be used in any salted dish, vegan, meaty, fishy. Can be used on sandwiches, in salads, pizza's .. whatever you think about that is salted.

Very similar ingredient but the texture and flavour is quite different. I personally can’t stand vegemite but I LOVE marmite 😅

Well… we need to talk to the marmite people. I just decided to make this (grew up with marmite so it’s a staple in my house) BUT THE JAR IS EMPTY! Iooove marmite. Hate the jar. You never know when it’s empty. Please talk to them. We need this stuff in tubes! Like tomato paste.

I’m 48. I’ve run out of marmite sooooo many times in my life because the jar was ‘suddenly empty’. They could have sold me so much more.

Hi from England. Must try Marmite Spaghetti, it looks great! My favorite way of eating Marmite is to VERY lightly butter two pieces of hot toasted sliced white bread, then THINLY, and I mean THINLY spread Marmite on both slices, then put a cheese slice (like you put on a burger) in-between the two to make a sandwich. HEAVEN MAN! No offense meant, but a lot of videos of Americans eating Marmite tend to show them spreading Marmite onto toast FAR, FAR too THICKLY...then they say they hate Marmite. Thinly dude, THINLY! :) Thanks for the vid.

Hi from Canada! Hahah yes I have made the mistake many times - Marmite goes from perfect to WAYYY too thick with just a couple swipes of a butter knife! I appreciate your sentiment there :) I am not sure i've ever had an actual Marmite and cheese sandwich! I'm sure I've put a slice of cheese on Marmite toast, but whether or not I've closed er up with another slice... I'm not sure! Thank you for sharing your ultimate snack with all of us! I will have a Marmite cheese sandwich this weekend for sure! - Paula

Can a Marmite-skeptic please report back after making this recipe? Were you truly converted? I have an open jar and am definitely not sure I'll ever find a use for the rest of it. Didn't love it stirred into soup. I guess I could make it and if it's not tasty wash it off...

Add a little to bolognese or chilli sauces you won't actually taste it much but it brings so much depth to it!
