The Congregation of the Fathers of Mercy, which was founded in 1808, originally under the title of “The Missionaries of France.” The community was founded for the purpose of re-evangelizing the people of France after the Catholic Faith had been subjected to years of attacks and persecution during the French Revolution. It is now exclusively an American community. The Generalate of the Congregation is located in Auburn, Kentucky. The primary apostolate of the Fathers of Mercy is to conduct parish missions and retreats throughout the United States and other countries when called upon. The Congregation also staffs The National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion in Green Bay, WI, and two rural parishes in the Archdiocese of Louisville, Kentucky.

This video is so providential. I was married in the Church and I never received an annulment. We got divorced. Unfortunately my husband got remarried civilly..But I have prayed and sacrificed for him for for 8 years now. He, in the meantime has got brain cancer and he is living on borrowed time, he was only given 5 years to live and is on his 6th year. Now after 8 years my husband and I are communicating, but is still living in an adulterous situation. Now I have to beg him to get out of his sinful relationship and move out, but I don't know how to go about it.. I have to get advice from a good priest. Please pray for my husband to get back to confession before he dies.🙏

What you have done is not in vain since you have done it for Christ. Many might castigate you as being foolish but as Christ said Matthew 19:11. not everyone can accept this word. Some testimonies like yours uplift me spiritually knowing that there are still people who would rather die than to hurt The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus which loves us sooo much. Please read Isaiah 41:10

I typed this at the beginning of your talk. I see you've included it further along! Karl and Zita should be promoted as an example to all couples as they prepare for marriage. When Blessed Emperor Karl of Austria married his beautiful Empress Zita, he told her - 'Now we must help each other get to Heaven.' And so they did!

What a great talk! I'd like to add that being a dad is a full time 24x7 job. It's a vocation from God. It can't be a singular focus, because there is also the full time job of being a husband which some would argue is more important. Next time someone questions the celibacy of Catholic Priests, tell them that I said being married and a priest and a dad at the same time is impossible and foolish.

The union of Husband and Wife in Holy Matrimony was approved by Jesus because he performed his first miracle on this special day. Upon Mama Mary’s request, he transformed water into wine. They should see each other as a child of God and ensure their spiritual growth. To be humble towards each other and not prideful. Be forgiving for each other’s weaknesses. Join other Christian couples in supporting each other. ADULTERY/DIVORCE is highly likely without Jesus in the centre of their relationship.🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

CCC 2384 - “Divorce is a grave offense against the natural law. It claims to break the contract, to which the spouses freely consented, to live with each other till death. Divorce does injury to the covenant of salvation, of which sacramental marriage is the sign. Contracting a new union, even if it is recognized by civil law, adds to the gravity of the rupture…” So we can see here that divorce itself is a mortal sin regardless of whether you have sex or cohabitate after the divorce. If you are the one initiating the divorce you are guilty of mortal sin. As it says, a new union just makes it worse. The sin has already occurred before the new union occurs.

It’s all depends of your reason. Some women or men don’t want the sacrificial love to becoming one. They prefer to live selfish ways or just give their life to priesthood or orders. Some times women and men have childhood traumas that change their way to see marriage or having a husband. So many times we don’t put God first in our marriage. Other times we see bad examples in marriage around our upbringing, and we get scared to marry and compromise. Instead of putting the effort and faith that putting God first will bring us a husband or wife that fits more with our morals and life views, including sharing the same religio, etc.

Marriage is not limited to satisfying biological or social needs, but is a way through which spouses can reach the fulfillment of their vocation to become "one flesh", as Christ teaches in the Gospel according to Matthew (19, 5). Spouses are called to love each other not only in moments of joy, but also in those of suffering and trial, imitating Christ's perfect love for the Church. Thus, Saint Dumitru Stăniloae sees marriage not as a means to achieve personal happiness, but as an opportunity to live a love that is the reflection of divine love. The Sacrament of Marriage is a path to sanctification, and the two spouses are called to live in Christ and through Christ, transforming their entire existence into mutual service, through love, sacrifice and communion.

1:13 How is it possible that it took over 40 years for many Catholics to even hear about the Theology of the Body? Pope John Paul II delivered these teachings between 1979 and 1984, yet for decades, priests had access to this profound work and didn’t make it a priority to teach us. Even today, a large number of Catholics remain unaware of its existence. Why was such a critical aspect of Catholic teaching neglected for so long? Are priests aware of concequences of that?

Beautiful homily and very refreshing to not hear the usual clause & escape from your cross ....an annulment. I truly believe there are marriages where it's legit to be granted one but when 99.9% of Catholics who divorce are granted an annulment and I personally know someone granted 2 then something is seriously wrong in the hierarchy of the Church.

The annulment and tribunals situations where some diocese have 100% declaration on nullity is the scandal of our time in the Church. God will not be mocked and these tribunal priests are making a millstone for their necks

No, the real issue is that 99% of marriages sanctioned by the Church shouldn't have occurred. Catholic marriage preparation has been lax since the sexual revolution. Those marriages are invalid. Enough with the Pharisaic approach to theology. How is it possible that it took over 40 years for many Catholics to even hear about the Theology of the Body? Pope John Paul II delivered these teachings between 1979 and 1984, yet for decades, priests had access to this profound work and didn’t make it a priority to teach us.
