@achilles94484 жыл бұрын
Ted Mcginley really seems like a really nice guy and I remember in one interview he was saying that even though he never got like huge leads in movies and TVs where he's the leading cast that he was still grateful and blessed to have a decent career and get jobs where it's enough for him to live off and that he appreciates that everyday and I thought that was one of the coolest interviews I ever seen because not many actors would even get close to having his career because there are hundreds of thousands actors and actresses who would love just to get a commercial or some kind of part in a movie even extra actors like the backup factors you seen in the back stories.... I'm a huge fan of Mary children and I remember when they let the character Steve Rhodes divorce Marcy and became a forest ranger and me and my family were thinking there is no way that they can replace the character Steve Rhodes and here comes Jefferson Darcy who is the opposite of Steve the roads.. a male gigolo pretty boy who's with varsity because of Hermione and it was great and I'm always glad that every time they have a reunions that Steve Rhodes and the Jefferson Darcy both actors are always welcome back and talking like this because they're both are incredible characters and Mary children will always be one of my favorite TV shows ever and let's not remember Fox network is huge and they have football rest they have special events like Super Bowl World Series and the NHL finals and others Fox network got started with marriage children and it was that show that put Fox network on the map

Ted will always be remembered as Jefferson, over all te others roles he played, and over this new religion phase he's in, he was PERFECT for the Jefferson role; Interestingly that show was so well written, that none of the actors/actresses have ever shone as bright in the subsequent careers, as they did when in the immortal "Married with Children"
@kendallrivers11194 жыл бұрын
I agree Ted was perfect for the role as was all the other actors for their parts. Married with Children was perfectly cast and imo as good and hilarious as the writing was if it didn't have these calibers of actors attached playing these zany characters with commitment and likability then I don't think the show would've lasted as long as it did. From someone who has watched a good amount of Two and a Half Men, this would have been interesting. As for what they ended up actually doing: Ashton Kutcher is a likable guy and was ok, but the tone of the show changed a lot, and it wouldn’t have appealed to most people who enjoyed the earlier show. I’ve always thought it would’ve been cool if Herb moved in with Alan. Also, fun fact: There’s a beautiful lady named Jennifer Aspen who played one of Bud’s girlfriends, and then played one of Alan Harper’s in an episode in a later season of Two and a Half Men.

Wow, thanks for this! They still have the same chemistry with each other that they did 20 years ago. I was more of a Steve fan and have seen David Garrison onstage many many times over the years since I live in NYC (saw him last month in WORKING at City Center), but I always liked McGinley's take on being married to Marcy too, since he was so different and brought out other sides of Amanda's talent. If I'd been there, I would have asked Amanda about her play, PARTY FACE, that she directed last spring off-Broadway, starring British actress Hayley Mills. She also filled in for one of the actresses in the last week and was completely hilarious as a wacky aunt with an impeccable Irish accent. And if you search for the opening night pictures, you'll see several of a beaming David Garrison reunited with his old friend at her debut, just as she's come to many of his plays. Thanks again for this video!

I love both guys and feel that the show just was so blessed casting wise. It could've easily fell apart when Garrison left because he did have a very good role but they were smart to go a completely different way with McGinley and the Jefferson Darcy character. If they had just tried to replicate Steve that would've been disastrous. Thank God for Jefferson tbh because as much as I liked Steve I couldn't imagine that the show could've worked had he stayed the rest of the series. I couldn't in a million years see Steve really being the perfect sidekick for Al the way Jefferson was and could you even picture him joining No Ma'm? LOL
