interesting. What happens when the breathing hole is open? Does it dry out the ink? is there a safety so the ink doesn't leak out? How long the cartridges last?

There is a breather hole which filters out dust etc, and reduces evaporation to a minimum. Cartridges last for numerous filling cycles - we replace if faulty during the life of your printer!
