Not only does Luffy tend to do the right thing, but he also tends to do what the government failed to in just a few days. Honestly I put a prime tarp above everyone except a prime white beard who thinks wins in raw power against anyone. Rogers strength was never really in his power, but his ability to inspire people similar to Luffy, his charisma and ambition is off the charts. If it came to a 1v1 fight though I'm always taking garp or white beard over Roger. I give white beard the nod over garp, because while garp eventually captures Rogers, he never defeats WB. Old WB also damn near 1 v 3d the admirals who whole aren't as strong as a prime garp, are still powerhouses.

Tbh, Roger was afraid of garp and it's cannon that every time they engaged Garp would almost Catch Roger and Roger would even say that on a few occasions Garp almost kills Roger.. so Garp is a leg above Roger at his prime, and now he likely scales to Roger shortly after dying which is insane.. so I would scale current Garp to Prime Whiteboard in the current story.

I 100% think Garp is stronger than prime Roger and Whitebeard. Because even though he never caught him, those times they fought Garp never lost, from what I can recall at least, we were told that they either ended in a draw or with Roger escaping. Plus we know Garp isn’t the type of guy to bring a whole fleet of Marines so you know those battles were with small numbers. And they won the each time. The only characters that I’d say we know of who is stronger than him is Xebec, Imu, and the original Joyboy. Though Dragon could be in that discussion but we don’t know. I guess you could maybe throw in the 5 elders but I would say that Garp is probably stronger. Is this because he’s my second favorite character? Yeah.. yeah that’s probably it.

My thinking is Garp could handle Xebec 1v1 fine it was the other monsters on Xebecs crew Garp needed Roger to deal with during the fight. That said I feel it went the exact same for Roger, He could have dealt with Xebec 1v1 but would have needed help with the full monster crew.

If Roger is king of pirate and his strongest rival is Garp then Garp is King of Marine and I personally believe Garp has the strongest haki Lemme explain why ..... In dressrosa , during Zoro vs pica fight remember pica covered himself with haki , his whole body was covered from armament haki and Zoro used armament haki to cut pica , he could cut pica bcoz his haki was stronger than pica's , right ?? Roger , Whitebeard they used weapons whereas Garp jus used his fist If Garp's haki wasn't stronger than roger how did garp survive?? Btw Rayleigh uses all three form of haki and he also use Ryuo haki ( haki of wano , which Luffy learned recently that destroys opponent from inside ) So if Rayleigh can use Ryuo I am 100000% sure Roger the king of pirate can also use something like this And if Roger , Rayleigh had such mind bogling power how they couldn't defeat Garp ?? Garp who just uses his fist , fist vs sword !! How garp didn't lose his arm man ?? The only explanation for this can be that Garp's haki was superior than anyone in that era. During flashback , we saw Roger vs WB In that fight we saw their blades didn't touch each other and it created a blast jus from their haki , maybe that's how Roger n Garp would have fought but jus think how absurd amount of haki it requires to fight like that , which I believe is not possible During Roger vs WB their first attack was very powerful but after that it was more of sword skill than haki , bcoz their blades got touched , ofcourse they would hv used haki during sword fight but not as much as they used in their 1st attack But now remove WB and put Garp in that situation If Garp touched Rogers sword his arm would b gone , until n unless garp is using haki more powerful than Roger or they both fought each other continuously using Ryuo , but than also it's impossible that someone like Roger , who had the most powerful haki and most probably the best swordsman of that tym couldn't manage to give a fatal blow to Garp . I didn't write so many things to prove Garp was stronger than anyone else , but the only reason is that I am seeing people taking Garp for granted They are making reels and shorts of monstrous haki list where Roger is always on top and Garp is at no 7,8 or not even in the list , kaido , Luffy , big mom , WB everyone above Garp and I belive that's too absurd !!! I believe at that level of strength there really isn't anything like stronger. I believe most of these strongest individuals to be more or less equal in strength. I hate when people just simply assume that Roger was stronger than whitebeard just because he became pirate king. Remember when someone said to luffy during dressrosa that "no matter how strong you are, you can't beat large numbers without a grandfleet" I believe Garp, WB, Akainu, Kong, 4 Yonko, etc to be very equal in strength with the final result depending on things like advantages one has over other at the time.

Man...i wish we knew garps dad or possible mentor figure...imagine it....probably no where near garps level but still probably the most powerful of the pre garp era untill you get all the way back to the void century era....garp deserves a prequel series in the future...more so than even roger, whitebeard, or shanks in my opinion..the only character that I want to know more about almost as much as garp is fujitora...but not enough to make a series off of...a chapter or 3 would suffice...but I'd watch/read adventures of young garp for a good 20+ years...lol

he’s just someone with common sense and sees it how it is. most people have agenda’s and made up power rankings in their head. Not realizing that Garp simply has the best resume in one piece pretty much probably aside from his own grandson who’s a fucking god anyways lol Taken down the rocks pirates, bullied Marco and aokiji, most impressive haki combatant not assisted by df or sword of any kind etc.. he didn’t get a lot of moments to show case his strength but we know he has a lot more cause he himself calls himself a weakling now compared to his peak. Oda is just basically saying he’s him 😂

They were all around the same age and it was Stated at the time Garp and Roger were above WB (In his younger days as Sengoku said it even tho he was 36), Kaido and Big mom.. They owned the Rocks Pirates. Fast forward 12 years Roger is 51 and Dying from an incurable disease and WB is 48 in his PRIME. So yes, when they fought 26 years ago Roger was already dying and weaker and he went toe to toe with Prime WB who had amazing haki and strongest Paramecia DF and Roger only had haki and still fought for 3 days.. You' trying to say WB didnt use his DF NOT ONE SINGLE TIME IN 3 DAYS?? Of course he did..... So yes I said what i said and backed it up...

Whitebeard was basically in his prime and didn’t get much stronger, Shiki was In his prime and prime Shiki is equal to prime whitebeard, and big mom was already in her prime, and ricks is stronger than whitebeard. Garp and roger still clapped them all without any permanent injuries
