Why can't I pretend I'm surprised? ZSS used to be top tier, but honestly now it feels like a low high tier to high mid tier like Ness, Sheik or Mii Brawler because she's lacking the consistency she used to have.

True that; some nerfs to top tiers were at least accompanied by some minor buffs such as Palutena or Wario. Or some top tiers still got some multi-hit fixes without much else such as Fox.

ZSS mains cry so much over some extra frames on up b while we got nerfed so hard that out of the ten or so top level Wario mains/secondaries only one still plays the character in any capacity.

4:54 I watched that set live because it was epic and the amount of people who said Kola was robbed is baffling. That up smash interaction happened twice the second time being that. Marss running into Kola’s shield and not getting the Up-B. That evens it all out. Marss won that set.

@@MerryBlind I mean, Pikachu's performance is more akin to Inkling than a R.O.B, with most top players dropping him due to being way too prediction reliant. That's the problem with Pikachu, it has overtuned numbers but is unable to cover everything in any situation, like a Cloud's Back air on ledge, a R.O.B's down tilt on close quarters, a Grenade on combos or a Mario Up air in landing. Pikachu just lacks the cheat factor that other high and top tiers have.

The west STILL thinking Pika is top 3 is another reason why Japanese players are just straight up more reasonable. The west is on some weird ESAM propaganda. Pika is literally not that hard to beat, the rat statistically loses to the majority of its tournament matchups than what MU charts and tier lists claim, often very disproportionately in some cases. Ultimate Pika might be the most overated character I have seen in any smash game.

Honestly the biggest reason I stopped going to locals was the Zss nerf. For exactly the same reason Vars mentioned and Marss affirmed: her power was not redistributed throughout her kit like other characters, it was just completely taken away. And since I was a solo Zss main, I just lost interest in the game. I still am sad about it. A small part of me hopes that the Steve glitch compels Nintendo to patch the game, and while they’re at it, maybe revert some of her nerfs to return her back top tier viability.

S - Roy (My 3rd) B- - Link (My 2nd) C+ - Robin (My 5th) C- - Ike (My Main) D+ - Zelda (My 4th, and was my main for a while) D+ - King DeDeDe (my Troll/Spam pick if I want to piss everyone off) In terms of each game, my mains were as follows; Smash 64 - Link Melee - Link (Marth & Roy) Brawl - Ike (Link & Zelda) Smash Wii U - Skipped/never had console. it's kinda funny cuz splatoon is the only first party nintendo game that sells more copies in japan than the rest of the world combined (see splatoon 3 in nintendo's recent annual earnings report) like their scene is just bigger & on average higher level than the west, so there might be an argument to be made in favor of how they balance it it's less true for smash - although the scene might be more concentrated in jp, there's greater parity but the similarities between smash and splatoon, with the west having a more aggressive style & less successful off the wall picks compared to japan, and then nintendo at least appearing to lean heavily on jp for balance changes, is pretty striking

Because she’s basically sonic, with more range to make up for being slightly slower. She is very similar to sonic that she can easily run away from the opponent. She may not be as campy as sonic but she’s still pretty annoying.
