Martial Artists REACT to the Combat in The Matrix Games | Experts React

Gamologist, are you ready for another fight between the gameplay and our guests.
On one corner we have our mid weight Actor and Stunt performer Yoshi Sudarsu and on the other corner we got our mighty light weight girl who can beat us up, yes boys and girls its our very own Gemma Nguyen.
On todays episode Gemma and Yoshi will be reacting to The Matrix games, yes guys you heard it right...
 Are they better than Neo? and what about Keanu?
The Matrix: Path of Neo is a 2005 action-adventure video game developed by Shiny Entertainment and published by Atari. The game was written and co-directed by the Wachowskis, who wrote and directed the first three The Matrix films and the 2003 video game Enter the Matrix, also developed by Shiny Entertainment. Players control the character Neo, participating in scenes from the films.
Enter the Matrix is a 2003 action-adventure video game developed by Shiny Entertainment and published by Infogrames, Inc. under the Atari brand name. It was the first game based on The Matrix film series. Its story is concurrent with that of the film The Matrix Reloaded and features over an hour of original footage, written and directed by the Wachowskis and starring the cast of the films, produced for the game.
Released in May 2003, the same month as The Matrix Reloaded, Enter the Matrix was simultaneously produced with The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. While it received mixed reviews from critics, the game sold 5 million copies as of May 2004.
The Matrix Awakens is a 2021 open world video game and technology demonstration developed by Epic Games using Unreal Engine 5 in partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures, The Coalition, WetaFX, Evil Eye Pictures, SideFX, and others for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, serving as a marketing tie-in for the 2021 film The Matrix Resurrections. Released during the 2021 Game Awards on December 9, 2021, it features Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) and Neo (Keanu Reeves) in cinematic and QTE shooter scenes where the player can take control of IO, a character which Epic introduced with Unreal's MetaHuman creator tool.

Path of Neo was truly awesome for the PS2 era. Lot of work had been put in into making that game and you start realising that only if you've actually started playing the game. The fighting mechanics were so beautifully done. I wonder what they could do with today's technology. Maybe even make a remastered version of it? And other awesome games from the PS2 era such as Prince of Persia, Def Jam FFNY, etc.

The reason why Neo doesn't do many big kicks is because Keanu was dealing with some injures so they had to adjust things for him! And I am ok with that! Also, you showed Enter the Matrix and The Matrix Path of Neo which are two different games! in Enter the Matrix you play as only Niobe and Ghost!

It's always refreshing when characters in games look like they're really running. Sometimes it's a jog. Sometimes it's an awkwardly long sprint. In this game it's accelerating on rollerblades 😅. It must be hard to motion capture natural running and sprinting.

Yoshi, the character from the game enter the matrix is called Ghost, he and Niobe are the main characters for this game and this is connected with the second movie (a prelude like the animatrix).

I loved Ghost's hand techniques, but then got B-slapped by Cujo in the Cellar... BTW: There must have been two games, one with Neo and one with Ghost and Niobe. You see Ghost in the second half of the video. The latter game had two different wall kicks and if I remember correctly it had disarms for pistols and rifles, depending on the weapon and the angle you approach the target. Plus, you could do even more violent takedowns with neck snaps instead of choking, if you used the focus (slow-mo). With pistols, or rifles, you could also do throws and then shoot the target and you could hit with pistols or rifles. Add multiple punching and kicking combinations, this gave about 100 moves per character! PS: my favorite scene was when you were facing off the agent in the plane and took the martial arts stance while the agent did the same, but your ally did something slightly different: he took the stance, but with two extended fingers and jumped out of the plane with a salto backwards...
