The demos you do create way more authentic reactions from the partners than other instructors in that camp

Have you been there and touched hands with Nima and the other teachers? Or is it that to you, the reactions seem more authentic with Nima on the videos?

Nima King had a desire to learn. He was extremely fortunate to learn from a genuine master with an equal desire to pass his knowledge on. He is an extremely fortunate man with a true passion and honest ability to demonstrate first hand to anyone, he can actually do this stuff. If every martial art had the same people within their systems , the enthusiasts would be far better at their styles. It has been decades now since I have met enthusiasts who have been exposed to the level of instruction that this man has received. He will continue to improve & master Wing Chun. He would be proud little bro 🙏👍🏻😉

@wingchun-simplekungfu7584 Thank you so much for always showing your support. it's always genuine and heartfelt 🙏🙏 You guys paved the way for us in 1991 when you visited him. It made the idea of coming to HK and training with him possible for us.

@wingchun-simplekungfu7584 indeed!! As I often say, if it wasn't because of Mark I would have never ended up coming to HK, and I may have not even continued Wing Chun in the early days. He took me under his wings and was like an older brother to me

I really love your explanation of internal energy. I think a lot of Wing Chun lineages are missing out on this teaching.

The hope is to continue to get the word out so that those who have not been exposed to this fundamental aspect of Wing Chun have the chance to adopt it. At my seminars in Germany, I get dozens of teachers from other lineages, some of which who have been doing Wing Chun for 4+ decades, and they are always amazed at the fact that they were never exposed to this aspect of the art. My hats off and full respect ro them though, as they must really love the art and have their egos in check enough to attend a seminar to learn after having been a teacher for decades. Unfortunately, the politics in some Wing Chun schools is that the teacher forbids the students from venturing out and learning from other teachers. This is why the online school has been great as people can get access to the information without 'getting in trouble' 😅

Great stuff and love the hose metaphor as way of deftly explaining a difficult concept. Coming from a background in southern mantis and taichi, the way you present wing chun makes me very interested in learning some of the forms.

@@Aerferx I thought it meant thinking of energy going up the spine. That is a better explanation. Thanks.

To differenciate blockeage and leakage was also a change of my understanding. As always very well explained.

@@RobinChildress-z6p your thinking was correct not Dxvidstyle. Another way of thinking of it is fluid filling up the spine (actually constantly flowing up - and then out though your intent to the target) its a visualisation of engaging your whole body and your intent to place your body mass somewhere.

After a while I'm here again and I'm amazed what happened with your arms? Why you need so much muscles, I mean Your master and his pals and master Yip didn't need it. And so dark painted! Well I'm scared what kind of spirit lives in such body?😮 You sure it is your master's WChun spirit? Are you sure? Bodybuilding protein powder Wing Chun all over the World! Take me for granted, friend: something is wrong! Something is missing so this is overloaded. Take care man. 🙏

@Jan-sb2ql haha, my friend, there is nothing wrong with having a strong and fit body and being able to use internal Kung Fu force. Having big muscle doesn't mean you can not relax them. In fact, the stronger the material of the body, the better the vessel it will be to conduct force and energy.

@@MindfulWingChunWow, good answer, so all is OK it seems. Maybe yes - in Nature it's best to have more weight and muscles. Probably our linage Masters would do the same if it would be possible in their time. What now? Shall I get some powder proteins, I wonder? 😀💪🖐️
@MindfulWingChun
@MindfulWingChun Ай бұрын
@Jan-sb2ql haha, yes, make sure to have enough protein. Creatine is also very good for muscle recovery and brain health. It is very cheap and safe also. And for sure, CST was very active physically in his youth. Pull ups, rowing, swimming, hiking, and hours of chisau as well as lots of heavy lifting with the pole. He never did weights. There weren't many gyms in his youth in HK. But he said the same thing as you just did, the stronger the body and the more weight someone has, the more power they will have when using the internals. The problem is when people start lifting weights before they can relax, they tense up their body and make it harder for themselves to relax. Even at my level of control, I am very mindful about the amount of physical exercise, and I never overdo it and ensure that overall, my body is becoming more open and relaxed.

@@MindfulWingChunSo you are the master. My sifu also said once: if you have two guys with the same kung fu ability/mastery, the heavier/stronger one will win. And I was thinking: who can defeat a gorilla male? No human. And you are right that building muscles before one can relax in times of full stress, makes things even worse in WChun. But don't forget the SPEED of original Wing Chun. I think it is quite forgotten nowadays. Watching Pak Mei demonstration, I recalled how beasty WChun attack can be. In this case too big body isn't necessary. But if WChun isn't complete, BJJ and MMA is added, along with bodybuilding. So not forget: E=mxC². Speed is essential, more then mass. In real combat, not sport. However, even Yip Man was quite bulky in his best time. 🖐️
