I think he is right. As long as the political corruption can be minimised, China will peaceful become an extraordinarily great country in the near future.

Martin comments are so dead on and insightful that some it could be overlooked. He is in my opinion the most interesting lecturer on china from a western perspective

The Western worlds are always like the regimes change in other nations. The Chinese government policy never have interfered with other nations internal affairs or politics, or tried to change the regimes by forces.

Lee Lhasa you choose destroy we choose infrastructure. Let the local talk. Try not to represent anyone. You and me are nobody. The whites always want to represent someone that's why they are always wrong.

@@leelhasa6294 Tibet is mainly a Political conflict. You have been brainwashed by the distorted way it is presented on Western Media. The Monks in effect became the Dictators of Tibet as Chinese Central Government decreased. You probably even believe the Monks are harmless people who will not use violence. You will never see it in the West but here is plenty of footage of say 100 Monks armed with there heavy hardwood poles at least 6' long attacking say 10 Police with nothing but short batons and throwing molotov cocktails at the Police. Never shown in the West. What is shown in the West is when a few armed Police arrive and maybe shoot a Monk to save the Police. China has no objection to the Monks provided they stay with Religion only. They though will not accept Religious types who want to Rule the Nation as well. That went out thousands of years ago.

China’s rise has undoubtedly been beneficial for much of the developing world. I hope it continues to be the case.

Give me freedom or give me food. One can survive without the former but not without the latter. One can contemplate freedom once the stomach is full.

I am 34, I have memory about 'poverty', so do my parents and friends. I don't mean personally poverty, but systematically poverty. Thankfully, we pass that period, and the people have that memory are still alive, they still remember what they did to shake off poverty. I think that may be a point to why Chinese could help the Africans. I believe many very kind-hearted western people wants to help, but they may not has that skill.Their memory are too much about democracy, elections, homosexual marriages… but forgot the needs of living. The basic needs of an human being.
