I believe Martin went crazy around the time of making 'Thin line between love and hate' for the same reason Dave Chappelle feared for his life and went to Africa. They were offered more fame, money and success in hollyweird for a piece of their soul. In other words they were probably approached in the same way Isaac Kappy was approached by Seth Green. No doubt Martin and Chapelle would've had their very own "Seth Greens" to prod them in the direction where NO wasn't an option. Who wouldn't react in the same way they did especially being young, black and already successful. It doesn't make sense until you realise what it was they were probably told to do if they wanted more fame, money and success

In the Bobby Brown biopic after NE kicked bobby out of the group I wonder if bobby was "approached" before he secured his first solo album record deal or after that when he started his second, Don't be cruel. We know it wasn't Whitney as she came on the scene after Don't be cruel blew up world wide. Martin would've already had moderate success with his stand up routines, Martin sitcom and few movies like House party and Boomerang under his belt but nothing that would elevate him to a global audience like a Will Smith. It looks like the movie thin line between love and hate was the time when "they" thought would be the perfect opportunity to bring Martin into the fold. And like you mentioned, bobby brown was on set! When you look at bobby B's status at the time of the making of that movie, he was up there! Married to Whitney, NE alumnus, Don't be Cruel and Bobby albums having dropped with overwhelming WW success. Plus both of them are from the projects who through hard work and perseverance made it out. Even the title of the movie and the plot suggests the consequences that await those that have had moderate success but wound up crazy or dead if you mess with the wrong person

@David K Whitney came on the scene in 1989 the same year DBC was the biggest album of the year they dated from 1989-1991 which the same time he was on Don’t Be Cruel Tour which concluded in spring of 91, after that they got engaged in 91 & married in 92, Bobby album came out in summer 92 with hit singles like Humpin Around, Good Enough, Get Away, That the Way Love is, Something in common & two can play that game. Which led to Bobby hosting the 1993 AMA & wining a AMA award. Humpin Around Tour ran from 1992-93 which he left early due to joining his than wife on the Bodyguard tour which ran from 1993-94. Bobby stated that when problems starting happening with drugs which prior to Kristina’s birth they were mainly focused on about business & their music but after Krissy was born they started dibbling here & there from using everyday. As a matter of fact Bobby was supposed to voice Powerline in Goofy movie but was fired due to substance abuse

My breakdown of Bobby's successful career was only to illustrate that by the time of making thin line between love and hate bobby was the perfect insider to help initiate Martin. Even when you look at the casting of bobby in that movie, to me it doesn't make any sense cause he can't act for shit. If however we are gonna talk bobby B, I think his current wife Alicia Etheredge is the perfect place to start. Why? Because she's got him to a point where he's useful to "them" again. Like his wife says "he's not late to gigs anymore" and assuming he's not on heavy drugs Alicia's got him on a short leash. In return he can enjoy a fresh start with a new family and ability to still earn. Whitney became so strung out and unpredictable she was no longer useful and had to go. Bobby K had to go too which probably paved the way for the lawyers to get their hands on most of her estate. It's as if they took out Whitney's family tree as payback and allowed bobby to survive because Alicia was an insider herself who probably loved bobby from working with him in the early days and thought if there was anyone who could help bobby become useful again, she could.

None of us can pretend to know what happened between Tisha and Martin. What we do know is their chemistry on the show was sooooo good and looked sooo natural with the hugs and kisses that you would think that something did happen behind the scenes between them. So apparently she rejected Martin from the start and instead choose a worse Martin to be with who is also broke. If I could write a "What IF" comic it would be what if Tisha and Martin L got together and had children. They were my favorite couple of all time.

Tisha campbell would have definitely been taken care financially. None of what she's going through now with Duane. But Martin wasn't in the right mind frame to be with anyone at that time so it wouldn't have lasted.
