We must never forget what Dr. King did to bring a betterment of the oppressed. In so many ways he was like Moses, both having the job that many would not want, and just as God spoke to Moses, to take the job, I'm sure He put it on Dr. King's heart to take the job. And just like Moses wasn't able to cross Jordan, to see the results, of their struggles, Dr. King didn't cross Jordan either, but he had seen the promised land, and his spirit was at peace with that..✌❤🙏

Daniel Mwale A white man killed him because King was fighting for equality for ALL man. Racist people back then and today, think they are superior to none whites. The hate back then was more blatant than what you see today. That’s why when someone says, “Make America Great Again,” it takes America back to the days Martin L. King was fighting hard to prevent black people in particular, from being beaten, sprayed with water hoses, and lynched. What I can say today, those times will never happen again on the same scale as in the past.

For the same reason they killed Malcolm X, and Fred Hampton. They talked of unity between race and class, criticized militarism, and capitalism and saw that they all of these were interconnected. You can't defeat racism without addressing poverty, wars for profit, consumerism/materialism. Kind of convenient that only when MLK pivoted his message to focus on economic and poverty issues they decided to kill him.

Yes, Denise, we are still fighting on the battlefield of racial biases n ignorance, apathy, even from within the black community, and wars on many fronts, such as institutional racial profiling and brutality and the unjust killing of many. But because some of this nation’s “other” fathers/leaders in wisdom and guidance, we STILL have a roadmap to find our way to a better day! I still have hope even in some of our nations darkest moments. George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and recent other Black citizens who’ve lost their lives under the current oppression, have not died in vain, if we continue to daily wage war against hatred. Dr King said the ultimate weapon is love. Let’s keep fighting for justice and make DR.King’ own sacrifice not be in vain.
