I’ve recently bought a great acoustic, and was surprised that the stringscratching was so loud. I thought that something was wrong with the guitar. Then I watched a video on the subject, and it turned out that I takes quite an amount of slow practice on to get rid of it. When I watched this video, and heard Ben play, I thought that the Martin was built in a way that minimized the scratching. But when Pete played it, I realized that I have just been playing electric all my life, and this is just what it sounds like, when a great electric guitarplayer switch to acoustic. So thank you both :) Lovely guitar, though.

If it was an of the shelf Jackson or Ibanez, fair enough; they probably have 20 of the exact same guitar in the stock room. The movie is The Hateful Eight, and I’m pretty sure it’s a true story. The folks at Martin were pretty gutted over losing that guitar. Such a shame. They need to be more careful in the movie industry; that’s not the first time an irreplaceable piece of history has been destroyed by careless practices on set. Also, this is a great video of an awesome guitar, and y’all played wonderfully, as usual. Keep up the good work.
@MicahTischler4 жыл бұрын
It wasn't careless practice - Taratino caused the real one to get smashed deliberately because he wanted a true look of shock on the actors' faces. As important as authenticity may be, there's just no damn way that was right.

@@pressonc reverb.com/news/the-hateful-eight-hates-on-six-strings ... This has two things in it that line up with that version ... both from the film's sound guy, who you'd expect to have split loyalties. There's the quote about Tarantino's reaction, as well as the note that there was supposed to have been a cut in the action ... which would be down to the director to call ... but which didn't happen ... that was when the reproduction was supposed to have been swapped in ... so, one has to ask, would a director as known to focus on details as Tarantino really forget to call a planned cut? Also, Russell was never told the cut and swap was coming ... between those three things, I think that's enough of a preponderance of evidence to win a civil case that the destruction was intentional.
