Massive fan of yours but the video is on hypertrophy for the quadriceps only. Your only argument to any of the exercises is core demand which holds no relevancy as the video is based on hypertrophy for the quads only not overall effectiveness of the exercise on athletic performance.

totally agree. whether he likes it or not, a hack squat or smith machine squat is always going to be better at building the quads than a high or low bar back squat. that’s not to say those movements are bad, they’re amazing, but taking stability out of the equation almost always results in better hypertrophy.

Front squat is S tier BECAUSE is has a greater core demand than the back squat. I also find that it translates very well when teaching athletes power cleans and hang cleans. Practicing the front squat helps create the movement pattern for nice smooth catches on those Olympics lifts I mentioned, in my opinion.

brother plenty of athletes use some kind of bosu ball squat in their speed and agility workouts. U actually have no clue what ur talking about. My schools strength and conditioning coach gave our volleyball team a a version of a bosu ball squat and they literally won state this year. Hes also a certified strength and conditioning coach. Im glad no schools have u as their strength and conditioning coach

Lift heavy compound movements, such as the back squat, deadlift, and bench press. Go on a healthy bulk with a bunch of protein and carbs. Also prioritize free weights over machines.

This is me and I was skinny and 125lbs skinny with not much muscle just really lean, there are crackheads and skinny African guys with bicep veins that doesn’t mean they have good genetics. I gained 80lbs since then, INTENTIONALLY had to force feed myself to get the results. My genetics didn’t do that work.

Yeahhh but he’s a big fan of functionality and core stability and the exercises he likes in this video also help with hyper trophy as well, whereas the ones on the machines only help with hypotrophy.
