I seriously doubt Mr. Dean would upload the video if persons may have failed their test. This is of course, if he ever did deny a promotion.

I also asked this question in some other video, my guess is that he knows his students, and test is offered when they are ready for promotion. So maybe it is more like ritual.

IamJacksColon4 right...because rodrigo pagani isnt a world champion. Or saulo ribeiro. That is what makes jiu jitsu beautiful. There is no jiu jitsu bodytype. Each body type has weapons that they can use and they have their weaknesses. It is the duty of the fighter to recognize those strengths and weaknesses and train to utilize and amplify those particular strengths. Idk how experienced you are in the art, but you will come to realize this in time.

the first two blues were clearly going too hard. too much muscle. trying weird shit too...like its a blie belt test haha kill him with what knows so he can be challanged and fight back. see how well he can utilize his current knowledge under stress of a better opponent.
