I'd love for him to join but I feel he's still a step behind on the survival stuff. I think he's self admitted it's the grind that he couldn't get into. Should partner with Cub or scar to farm the blocks for him.

I so agree with you, even though I like all the chaos ensuing, death is so much more common and it makes the survival part of the game just an aspect and not a baseline of it. Limited life is definitely still awesome and entertaining though, excited to see where it goes.

limited life has caused people to value their life a lot less, since it takes 1 hour instead of 1 of 3 lives. people are much quicker to do dangerous traps because the punishment if they fail is not nearly as high.

I guess what could be done is limit the number of lifes to 5. That way the players aren't immediatly in danger, but acting like Joel or Etho in the last session does get punished.

I personally like the way the abandance of death distinguishes this series from the others. The ability for players to die a lot of times plus the keepinventory rule has led people going nuts with trapping and killing. Sure, deaths feel less meaningful and people are not as afraid of dying, but that could lead to unique moments, like the bad boys attempting water bucket clutch or them trying to teleport, kill and teleport away. Those moments could only happen in an environment like limited life's and will likely stay unique to that

I hope this series didn't end the way I think it would be. I'm sure we've all heard about the “Icarus” curse that Grian have where he (the sun) just killed everyone he loves (in this case the Icarus) for like, every season. Or about Jimmy's curse that I like to call Canary curse because he's always out first, or Joel's Lone Wolf Curse because he always ended up lonely in each session. Except double life. And the fact that Grian is mostly responsible for Jimmy's death, I can see the curse kicking in there.

i agree. there are multiple other EVO people on the server that I think would be interesting to get in on the lore. Not all of them have to do it, obviously, since it's a lot of time and planning for what is ultimately unpredictable, but I think a little wink and a nod to it every now and then at least would be nice.

Actually, the boogieman is brilliant as it allows Greens to kill as they normally can't. Works great with incentive-based Life-series as it gives them reason to kill. I love the Life-series as you know the rules, but it's super varied each session.

Yeah i don't know either. For the duration of last life he was one of the last people to die and also only died a total of 2 times in that series. However, since he was paired with tango for double life he was the first to die and since that's the season that solidified his curse, that's likely the source of the misconception

Idk, the pun with Second Life doesn't nearly come across as well as Limited Life. I get that Second Life is how every second counts. However Limited Life just makes more sense because you do have a limit to how long you can have that life, even if you can prolong it, your time is still limited.

Yeah exactly. I get that Martyn is saying that each season was limited, but technically the first 3 seasons could go on forever as long as no one dies. If no one died in limited life, the series would go on for a max of 8 episodes, thus making it limited.

Martyn, you should design a Grumbot, and then you could situate yourself as a lost traveler and perhaps visit both Empires and Hermitcraft, and hey who knows, maybe you become the conduit that ties the multiverse together, with Grumbot Portals to all the SMPs. Just write yourself into everyone elses narrative for a cameo appearance in a story arc, then poof Grumbot portal closes, and off to the next one. Quantum Leap type thing.

I always liked to interpret that in last life, the players were able to, in some capacity, escape, from the watcher end speech, the sort of trimming down of members of the life series (like, maybe Mumbo & Lizzie & the others not featured just escaped) and the fact the watchers weren’t really present. Maybe the bonded life thing was like, team building by the listeners to get everyone ready for the next fight with the watchers. Just a thought

Ive got an idea for the next ____ Life. What if u called it ‘Secret Life’, where your life is kept secret to the other players and even the audience. You get a random number of lives (like in Last Life), and if you get to red life you can kill 2 people to get 1 life back. Of course, if you kill 1 person people will know youre on red life and so will be wary of you. Because of this, its best to get 2 kills at once so that you immediately go back to yellow life. Over time, lives will go down and more and more people will be revealed as red (or yellow if they kill to get a life back). In the end, its best to die as little as possible and try to sus out red lives so that your life count stays secret for as long as possible. There can also be a boogie to keep things interesting. Finally, an optional addition to this idea could be that yellows and greens can hunt down and kill red lives, so keeping your lives secret is key if you are red. Also, if you’re red, you can team up with other red lives to fight back, so discovering other people on red life is a good strategy, though this could lead to people faking being red to catch reds off guard and so kill them, perhaps giving greens or yellows an additional life.

Inverted last life. All members start with 0 lives, then, in the style of boogieman, a certain number of random members will be assigned a life. If they succeed in surviving the session, they gain a life, and if another member succeeds in killing a member with a life they get a life. It could be like musical chairs with members who do not gain a life in the session dropping out, with the last one standing claiming the win, but that might make for a really unsatisfying series with less member interactions and alliances 😅

I've enjoyed Limited Life immensely, and tbh it's my least favorite of the Life series. Feels less organic and everyone always being on Skynet wasn't particularly interesting to me personally. Id like to see a series without tnt. The tnt kills are funny and all, but I'd like to see some variety in the kills. And yes, I'm aware my opinions here are irrelevant
