A movie starring a black cast is fine, but when they make a white character black to fit their mould, it's not faithful to the source material, not to the fans. To the woke crowd maybe... I'm not saying it can't work. House of Dragon pulled it off with the valeyrions, but I don't know how specified they were in the first place, and also they fit the narrative; they were foreigners to this land, thus they have different skin. Dr strange 2 was my last marvel movie. I watched endgame, skipped a few movies, then tried to go back to dr strange 2 because I liked the first one. Growing up, I was a big fan of X-Men the animated series. It was so well crafted. The story of mutants was universally relatable. Media abstractly taught me life lessons, touched on difficult situations, found intelligent ways to tell stories. So much so that when I've rewatched "Kid's movies" from the 90's I realized how well they told & crafted stories even adults and kid's can enjoy & appreciate it. (Pretty much anything created by Don Bluth or Written by Roald Dahl) My Brave little toaster, James and the giant peach, The never ending story, Jumanji, Hook, The secret of the Nimh, Sword and the stone, black cauldron, beetle juice, Alice in wonderland, Rock-a-doodle, Captain Planet, Thundercats, He-man, Spawn, Matilda, The BFG, Ren and stimpy, courage the cowardly dog, magic school bus, Dexter's laboratory, pinky and the brain, rocko's modern life, Ah! Real monster's, goosebumps, are you afraid of the dark, pee wee's playhouse, she-ra warrior princess, Flintstones, the Jetsons. So many more I won't list them all but they had such creative range. So many ways of telling stories. So many types of creatures, unique worlds, weird things, macabre things. I loved how we used to embrace those things. Nowadays everything is so bland or Shallow live action version's filed with nonsense & hollowness. I miss the Era of creativity, of animated series, of things that made us utilize our intelligence. Artistic depictions of the Human condition that connects us on a deeper level. No matter what kind of character, creature, specie's they are. I seriously don't understand who can enjoy these modern live action movies. Filled with so much disconnected CGI. Cheap cop out writing, acting, storytelling that is treating our entire audience like they are 2 yr olds that just need a pair of shiney keys waved in front of them for entertainment... it's a very bland & soulless way to entertain... Seeing how things are nowadays, i feel so lucky that i got to grow up in the 90's. Back then I never could have guessed that things would have changed the ways they did. It was such a great time to be a kid. The world seemed to have so many creative ways kids, teens and adults could all enjoy themselves. Entertaining movies with practical effects. Animated movies/shows galore. If they used CGI it was used intelligently. I really miss the Vibe of that Era. The creativity that came from that era. I really hope we find a way to reconnect with it because the world seems like it really needs it right now. I mean just look at the aesthetics compared to now? Things have somehow become so bland, bleek, and minimalism that it doesn't even make since. Most Old house's/building's/uúnique shop's are gone. Interesting oddities like drive in movies, indoor fun zones, arcade's, magazines that came with a demo disc to try out game's, blockbuster/Hollywood video, McDonald's had N64's, you could preview music before buying it, they had great kid's toy's, Roller Rink's, Garbage pale kid's card's. You get the point. I want to reignite that feel sort of like Retro-Futurism or that Y2K Vibe compared to this current Dystopian pessimism that seems solely focused purely on capitalistic agendas. Our Quality of Life should be better than this.

I love so many of those things you mentioned some of which have had modern remakes or remasters for better or for worse. If you didnt know on netlix there is a musical version of Matilda and its pretty good. Its a more british oriented version and while yes Ms. Honey is race swapped its not like her race was a big factor anyways. The actress still does an amazing job and I love how they added more to the story while keeping it within the originals context still. Whats worse than the chokey but an entire classroom of chokeys lol. I also think that the upgraded animation for Matildas powers were cool. Something ive noticed is the UK is doing much better at doing remakes or sequals to movies we have prievously done than we are now. Just look at the peter pan movie from 2015 compared to the new peter pan and wendy trailer. That peter pan (2015) movie was telling how peter became peter pan as a prequal. They check off all the boxes for diversity and still keep it looking good too. As for another great series around that time that I think you missed is where in the world is Carmen Sandiego. That show was originally very educational and great. The old computer games were too. As for the new adaption on Netflix that completly screwed up. Carmen Sandiego is a villainous theif you the kids/audience help find and capture. The new show has her as the main character, a child, a secret government spy, and the good girl. They screwed that up hard since she was originally the main villain of the show, a theif (you the audience or the children appearing on the show were the secret agents), and she was an adult. Her design went from a cool anime esk design to a character in a kids sticker cartoon. It wasnt like she was overly sexualised either. She wore a long red trench coat, red spy hat, and high heels. The mcus black widow is more sexualised than her and she is live action. Some things are just better off left alone if you cannot do them justice.

The stupidest decision they made is that they made “multiverse” as the next big story arc and didn’t use it to bring back the characters people love. The different actors thing has been proven to work already, and multiverse storylines have been well received twice in recent memory. The fact is that Marvel, like Star Wars, was basically a money printing press. They could have ran any plotline after the Infinity saga and likely couldn't screw it up... and yet Disney did, and in record time. It wasn't the multiverse. It was the woke.

I’m genuinely grateful that I grew up in the 80s and 90s, loving superheroes and comics and spoiled with a comic shop down the road from me and spiderman and X-men and Batman TAS. And all the ok and awful comic movies, and THEN the MCU starring, and I experienced all the fun and hype and comradery of going through the infinity saga in real time. I’m extremely thankful for that, and I’ll always have the memories. (And Inf Saga special edition gauntlet boxed set!) But the MCU is dead now. Thor 4 was the nail in the coffin for me. I’m grateful for this channel and others like it and this community that I can laugh and lament with. It was a good ride. Thanks for the memories and fun, and onto the next 🍻

You can very simply sum up why Disney has been getting worse and worse over the years: This is the result of a billion dollar business being staffed and ran by people who were hired based on a diversity quota and a focus on pushing politics everywhere, instead of hiring on merit, and a goal of entertaining and making the most money possible. Things will change. In the end their practices don't match what a company like them NEEDS to continue operation. The degree of change I think will be the minimum required to be successful again.
