@Member_zero Жыл бұрын
@@brittscott4673 Could be. Personaly I think they are just the wrong writters for the job that focus on the wrong things. They were hired by people who dosn't have their priorities straight. If you're a writer, and your boss orders you to write garbage, no matter how hard working you are, or how talanted you are, the result will be garbage. Ofc people are going to point to the writers - but I would argue, the bigger fault lies in people hiring those writers. Maybe some of them shouldn't be writing a movie script for Star Wars. Maybe they would be better if they would put their talent into other ventures. That's just the reality. And maybe, it's not just that the writing is bad - but the whole concept and premise recent Disney remakes and Star Wars sequels stand on is bad. And no writer in the world can save it. Persoanly, I would argue it's both. And these 2 problems feed one another. Because the premise is bad, good writers will go somewhere else, or will be unwilling to write a "woke" show for example. And because writers that are willing are bad, they work hard, yet aren't compensated for it, nor is their product any good. Which means any potential new writer will also want to stay away from the garbage.

Considering even a recent 'hit' like 'Wednesday' was basically saved by a 20 something actress who knew more about the main character than the writers did (and she still couldn't convince them that Wednesday having two love interests wasn't a Wednesday thing at all, and it turned out kinda cringe), and the writers for 'the Witcher' even went as far as to openly admit that they meant to deviate from the source material, I think it's safe to day that the writers need to lose badly on this strike. They've been too infiltrated by the Woke, and been handed the reigns to too many franchises that should simply print money, and managed to fail with them. The don't care what they ruin, as long as they get to inject their politics into it. They're not going to lose money if a project fails, the producers will. The writers will just cash their paychecks and go off to ruin something else. They need to have this power taken from them now. They had their chance to prove how valuable they are, and they botched it. Let them tell their story walking.

Hollywood has done this for nearly a century before deciding to go political. It's no coincidence that when they decide to pick a political side, their numbers plummet. Newspapers once had HUGE profits, even with lots of reporters and photographers and editors producing good product. Twenty years ago, the big owners saw their profits start slipping. Twenty to thirty percent profit margins dropped to ten or fifteen percent, a level many industries only have in wet dreams. That’s when the traditional owners started selling out to hedge funds which began to dismantle their properties. Today, Gannett content producers are going on strike, apparently not aware that they’re lucky to still have careers. Hollywood has gotten used to ridiculous profits and when they begin to be unsustainable, the studios will eventually be taken over by hedge funds who won’t hire woke millennials…they’ll fire four out of five employees. Many of those striking today will be back to working in food service.

Yup. So even regardless of the writers, the ONLY media we will EVER get now will be full of LIES and ANTI (YT) messaging.

I wouldn't be suprised if they get paid for this strike at this point.

It sounds like you are referring to the requirements that a film needs to meet in order to qualify to be nominated by the academy to be eligible to win an Oscar. As for these woke writers alot of them probably went to west coast schools where their professors indoctrinated them in wokeism. Some of these writers may not be able to write something free of wokeness because it's just so ingrained into their own writing sensibilities . THEY HAVE BEEN BRAINWASHED TO THE POINT THAT WOKENESS IS INTERTWINED WITH THEIR CORE CREATIVITY.

I have never seen an entire industry dismantle itself for no logical reason, this is hilarious, if this is just a novel way of entertainment then consider me impressed 😂

@John Klise I think they thought we were all equally stupid enough to flagellate ourselves on the altar of st George the Floyd but unfortunately some of us in reality know what an overdose looks like even in a video. Some of us also understand what drug trials are and aren’t supposed to look like as well. I refused to support people that tell me to act against my own best judgment. Ever again. I was born before social media and my brain isn’t quite as fried as gen z. The emperor has no clothes.

If I knocked over a shelf and cost the company I worked for $10000 I wouldn't be able to demand more money.

This self-destruction arc is the most interesting thing to come out of Hollywood since IDK when.

They think if they keep digging their heels in something different will happen and people will just ‘get over it’, definition of insanity.

I don't know if you should really strike when you could be replaced by any fanfiction writer off the internet.

They could pull a random hobo off the street and the quality of writing would likely improve.

Fanfic writers- TRUE fans of the work that is, would do a better job than writers over the last few years.

When AI churns out a script better than anything Hollywood has produced these days, it’s probably scouring usenet and livejournal fanfics from the '90s and early 2000s.

I remember seeing the early small home movies Sam Raimi made with Bruce Campbell and friends before he got the Evil Dead and Army of Darkness movies. Executives and investors saw the potential of THAT talent telling a story with more money behind it and wanted THAT story, not the story the executives and investors want to tell with an already established IP with a director and actors they just happen to like. That's one of the things that seems really different today.

Dude, the quality of your editing and writing is really outstanding. I edit videos myself and I wish I had your chops. Bravo.

Wokeness has shattered my perceptions of some actors and actresses revealing just how two-faced and opportunistic they are when their careers are pressured into becoming "one of us" or doing the more common sense thing of being an individual and taking a stand. This writer's strike should go on for as long as it has to if it dissolves the bad workers making movies and series unwatchable, financially bloated failures.

I couldn’t have cared less if they didn’t suck, but they do, so the fact they don’t just keep their yaps shut, forcing everyone to listen to the echo in their empty heads makes me completely despise them.

Dude, that speech by Orson Welles in F is For Fake is one of the most haunting, and chilling speeches that perfectly describes Hollywood as a whole. Orson Welles was definitely a man ahead of his time with premonitory visions and foreknowledge on how western society, especially American society, would change and potentially crumble in the times well after his death.

Orson Wells was also a Marxist and a toxic narcissist who was horrible to work for.

Dam that low tier god quote feels pretty spot on for those writers right about now. “Your life means nothing, you serve zero purpose”
