This Hulk isn't Bruce Banner, is Amadeus Cho, he was the main Hulk in the Marvel universe a couple year ago when Banner was dead, I read some of his comics and it wasn't terrible, but nothing special too

@@venomsjunkmail I think Amadeus Cho have nothing to do with the MCU, since Bruce Banner was back as the main Hulk in the Immortal Hulk comic that started in 2018, and it's nothing like the Smart Hulk from the MCU

This costume gives me major nostalgia for when I first started collecting during the 3.75 Marvel Universe days as a kid. Any WWII Cap with the more triangular shield is my favorite though (which this costume for some reason also had in MVC3).

My favorite Steve Rogers look is from the First Avenger. They really nailed the superhero look while keeping it grounded as a military uniform. I like all the other suits quite a bit, but I think they nailed it the first time.

Totally Awesome Hulk is not a new thing but I dont remember fans really caring that much either when it happened. I read some of it something like 10 years ago and it wasnt really doing it for me either. Amadeus had some cool moments though. He could calculate really fast and like throw a rock that hits the right spot to do a ton of damage.

The Civil War run/look for Cap is my favorite with the good old chainmail chest. The last time I got a figure with the peg and clip shield I broke it off purposefully and glued down two pieces of bendy wire for the straps, get rid of the peg and clip shield!

I haven’t read a whole lot of stuff with Amadeus Cho as Hulk, but I really liked Amadeus in the stuff I read before he became Hulk and I’ve always wanted ML to do a figure of him in that form, but that’s always been unlikely as most people may find that boring, and I figured they’d do this instead. As it stands, I don’t have a real problem with his Hulk form, but I don’t have a lot of experience with it. It’s not a big deal though, there’s still Banner Hulk, this is just another Hulk like Red Hulk, She-Hulk, etc.

This figure is rough, I've seen a lot of people complaining about severe paint chipping on the white parts of the paint and when that's 90% of the paint, it's a problem and the face sculpt looks like younger version of comedian Jim Gaffigan. The 20th Anniversary unmasked Steve Rogers head looked so much better btw.

The face is like Matt Damon Captain America, or maybe Alan Ritchson. I understand they need to use the same mold, but update legs and arms pinless will be good for them, because in this case will be a clean canvas pieces, that will work for more figures. With the odd recent plastic option, these figures are better pinless.

Ultimate Captain America is my favorite suit for him. But his personality in the comics i didn't really care for. So whenever i think of Ultimate Cap I imagine his personality as how it was in the animated Ultimate Avengers movies. He had a personality much closer to 616 Cap in those movies.

The head sculpt looks pretty good to me, but I can't help but notice it was modeled after an O'Doyle. That's cool and all,but I'm thinking of giving him the old man Outback head sculpt, instead if I get my hands on this figure.

After Jada Toys' Ryu I just can't accept what Hasbro does most the time. I'll grab figures of characters I like from them that look well done, or the rare clearance figure of a character I think looks ok, but otherwise I'm just not giving them more cash. I keep debating on if I want the Jada Fei Long. I have no attachment to him but he looks like a toony Bruce Lee and for the price he articulates so well from what I've seen. Hopefully the Fei floats around at retail for a while as I decide on if I want him haha.

In 2015 Amadeus Cho siphoned off what he thought was all of the gamma from Bruce Banner when he was the Hulk saving Africa from a new type of radiation. He tried to be a better Hulk than Banner which ultimately fails as he also could not control his rage. His teammates injected nanobots into him to breakdown the ones he used to absorb Banners gamma which in turned allowed him to retain some gamma permanently at which time he became smaller and became "Brawn" his new identity. So to answer your question no this is not a thing anymore as Bruce is the actual Hulk again. Marvel failed again to use diversity to make someone who is not a classic hero a hero by using their name just like Spider-man for Miles Morales and Ms Marvel for Kamala Khan who incidentally was just killed in the comics. Give these people their own hero name/indentity and stop using established heroes to promote ethnic diversity if they can't carry themselves as their own hero then they shouldn't exist to begin with!

Hasbro makes me mad sometimes. When they want to make a good figure, they can make a good figure. That Ultimate Captain America was amazing. All new sculpt on a comic figure, Pinless joints, a new shield that's the correct size, interchangeable hands and heads. It's almost perfect. And then they make this. A reused body, pins (those don't actually bother me though because it's the same color on both sides), a lazy shield that is the small 80th Cap shield mold with the horrible clip, and no other accessories. I wish Hasbro would always do their figures like Ultimate Cap.

Hate the clip, only caps i've owned prior was Face Off Cap with the elastic straps, and MCU cap with the sculpted bands and just recently I got the new Ultimate Cap, it's so good, but then the clip is starting to stress on mine and it just makes me never wanna have him hold it

Well, I am really torn about this figure. I really like this suit, but, this version is all we can get right now. Mafex is coming out with an awesome looking figure at four times next year!!!! So, I believe I will search for extra quarters in the sofa and wait for Mafex!!! Thanks for showing us what Hasbro thinks of us!!!! Peace!!!!

8:28 Funny story, I was posing around my Jakks Pacific BOTW Link and I just happen to have my 20th Anniversary Captain America next to me. Out of curiosity, I wanted to see if Link could swing his legs all the way out as opposed to Cap who has terrible range out to the side. I almost laughed at the result. The $10 figure that wears a tunic from the smaller toy company can nearly do the splits while the $35 figure from the biggest toy company can barely do a sidekick. It's such a sad sight to see that we're in 2023 and we're still getting senseless limitations in these Hasbro figures. There's no reason why any of those figures shouldn't be able to kick all the way out to the side. There's literally nothing stopping him! One of the many reasons why I'm not doing Marvel Legends anymore. Mafex is my go-to for superhero figures. I'm not a huge McFarlane guy either, but he is steadily improving. That Knightfall Batman looks amazing. Hope he makes more Bronze Age Bat characters.

Amadeus was a cool character. The hair is just simply because that’s how Amadeus’ hair is and because he isn’t banner. I am glad that banner is the hulk again though.

The shield doesn't have straps because in the comics this is a holographic kind of shield. I do think they should at least uses clear plastic for the peg to maintain that holographic effect. Thanks for the review, I've been thinking of getting this figure. Could use a second thought

My favorite costume is the scale mail. This head sculp is still no good, but at least he doesn't look like Gordon Ramsay anymore.

I'm mixed on the head, but I can fix most of the problems I have with it, and overall I approve of the figure... EXCEPT for the fact he doesn't come with trigger hands. If they'd made a 6" scale version of the 3.75" Marvel Universe Commander Rogers I'd be ecstatic.

The clip would have looked much better if it were translucent plastic to be less visible through the transparent shield. He's got too much chin and jaw. Classified Duke head would look great. There's no excuse for the boots not to swivel. And the red pins just stick out so badly. As a customizer I like pin joints but this is a scenario where they def should have gone pinless or painted the pins or mold them in duel color plastic. Most of that can be easily modded, but the sloppy white paint when those lines are the focal point of the costume just are glaringly bad.

Hey Anthony- just got my hands on the McFarlane master Chief evolution three pack released back in like 2010 (for less than it would cost to get three modern Chief figures from jazwares I might add). I think they blow almost all the modern halo figures out of the water. I would love to see a re-review of the old McFarlane Chief figures if you have em- I think they’re a fantastic example of how much less you get with your money today.

They were and still are great. I have all of them still. Thing is, they were much smaller than what's being made today and we're aimed at adult collectors instead of kids. Hard to make a fair comparison really. But yes, for adults, the mcf win hands down if you still looking once you get to halo 4. ... And can about qc problems

That Totally Awesome Hulk isn't even current. That look only existed in the comics between 2015-2018. He sized down and changed his hero codename to "Brawn" after that... so I'm not sure why that was the BAF they decided to go with. Probably cheap since they reused a buck they already had on hand.

The pins ruin it for me, but there is enough other stuff that I like to make this some good kit bash fodder. The T-Rex eyes and HUGE chin entertain me for some reason. The clip is ugly, but wasn't that shield an energy projection, did it have straps? I don't even know... Thanks for the great review.

The head is also huge, swapping it with the unmasked 20th anni sculpt makes it even more apparent. Also the shield clips have always been god awful and never looks right when clipped on the arm.

Thanks for the review Anthony. QotD: Amadeus Cho. That's all I know. And yes, I think the BAF looks rather goofy with the Lululemon shorts. What appeared as a redeeming quality (the Shield) turned into a big disappointment when the clip was exposed. Perhaps you are in a better position to answer this - is Hasbro the only action figure manufacturer making shields with those awful clips?

That’s not the Traditional Hulk via Bruce Banner. That look like Amadeus Cho. He was Hulk when Bruce separated from Bruce in the Comics. He retains his intelligence but he’s not as Strong as Banner Hulk. He’s not the most current Hulk but he is the second most current hulk.

So I was curious, a lot of marvel legends do good on a "for marvel legends" scale, if they were to be on a regular scale would they be half of what they got? like an 8 is a 4?

there is no regular scale. too many different price points. but also, that wouldn't be helpful. people are watching a marvel legends review because theyre interested in that line. noting that it isn't as good as a figuarts figure does help... but people kept not understanding that the rating isnt comparing against every other figure so i have to be more specific in the videos.

They should use the photorealistic paint for the eyes only, lips looks wonky & I know for a fact that Hasbro couldn't match paint with plastic. The lips should be left unpainted. Maybe a wash, idk.

Also, you're right about the "photorealistic sculpt". Assuming this was sculpted by Paul Harding, his 3D sculpt looks great digitally, but I'm not sure putting it on ML bodies work that well. It might look good on statue.

To answer your question about the “are they doing the BAFs for fans anymore?” I would say no. Especially in this case. Dan from the ML team said he wanted this BAF because it’s “his favorite character EVER” 😕 😂 so apparently these releases are for him not for us. BTW, this head sculpt is awful. Steve doesn’t look like Steve he looks like Phillip Seymour Hoffman. Atrocious. I would just use the 20th cap head instead of this nonsense.

Anthony's being lenient with this. I think it's disappointing. The head isn't great. It looks like someone farted near him, and has piggy eyes. GI Joe Classified Alley Viper has a great rotatable strap system for the shield. Do that on all your shields Hasbro! They re-did the hips and pelvic area on the Grim Reaper fig for the 80 years Cap why not use those? They do a better sideways splits and have costume wrinkles sculpted on. Like the US Agent from the Controller baf wave, the arms are too puny. They beefed them up for 80 Years Cap and The 20th Anniversary. If this had a new improved sculpt and some love like the Ultimate Cap I'd be in. Easy pass.

Totally awesome Hulk was during 2015-2016 when Marvel was doing some new stuff it was pretty fun it also kind of ended before it could really do anything cool unfortunately and then civil War 2 just kind of ruined everything for the new people and Captain Marvel

I hate this. I like this design and I wanted to like this figure but the fact that this figure is barely, just barely, better than an 11 year old figure is just absurd. This figure could've easily come out in 2016 and it would've looked exactly like this, but it would've been $5 cheaper and probably came with 5 more accessories. How they couldn't do better in 2023 is mind-blowing. I didn't know it was possible, but somehow we are regressing.
