Marvel have lied to us again about one of their upcoming movies. Marvel have given us the same lie in the past and in this video I am going to expose it and hopefully prevent any of you from being disappointed in the process!

Comic book properties can be more than cinematic shared universes and formulaic blockbusters. Martin Scorsese has a good point that the genre is nothing but rollercoaster attractions rather than art. There’s no creativity in limiting creativity. There’s no freedom in forcing everything to be a cog in a larger machine with no independence. Also Disney and Marvel Studios needs to grow up and stop being childish. Everything is a joke. Even comedy superhero movies have too many jokes nowadays. I’m just done with Marvel and want Disney to lose ownership at this point.

I feel like there’s a good middle ground with the ArkhamVerse being both realistic and fantastical with gritty tone intact. I’d like for that type of Batman universe in live action instead of too fantastical and too grounded. Also Batman shouldn’t be a comedy. I’m not really interested in a DCU that’s a MCU copycat. There can be some comedy with Batman but it shouldn’t be quips nor slapstick but just dry humor like from the animated series or Arkham games. Overall Batman should be serious.

To me, the most notorious time Marvel lied in it's trailers was Iron Man 3. They spent the whole teaser building up the Mandarin as Iron Man's ultimate villain, one who was going to push him to his limits and be able to harm his loved ones. This takes me back to 2022 when the leak grifters were trying to hype Brave New World up and only succeeding in making look like an absolute mess. It was a Hulk movie, then an X-Men movie and finally an Avengers movie. It was anything but a Captain America movie. It’s true, Captain America Civil War could be called Avengers 2.0 with Iron Man, Ant-Man, Spider-Man and Black Panther turning up. Despite this however, it was still Steve's movie. It was about him protecting his best friend, and only link to the past he has left, from the world. He didn’t care who got in his way, whether it was his friends, the law or the government. Captain America Brave New World on the other hand? It feels like Disney knows Sam has been rejected as Cap, so they’re shoehorning everyone in there for the sake of fanservice.

They werent wrong about the trailer for black panther 2 but the movies after they have lied. I dont really think captain america 4 will have the same vibe as the trailer. Also the lighting of the movie in the trailer just seems off to me. Like those colorful bright shots of the trees and the ocean look too bright in quality as if the scene is a light hearted moment. I actually have some insight on trailers and marketing in general. With a bigger studio like Disney it’s always outsourced by the company’s in house marketing department, I know for a fact that the darker tone for ant man and the marvels were more of the trailer houses idea rather then disneys. for the captain America trailers i don’t know but based on what I know from leaked plot elements and reused shots it seems like whoever is cutting the trailer doesn’t have much. Also this is a nitpick but red hulk is weaker then regular hulk so maybe these punches can be played off if there mainly parried or hit the shield idk

1. BNW isn’t even out yet so we can’t judge it yet 2. Age of Ultron I agree had a misleading trailer but the movie was still good overall 3. Quantumania didn’t have real dark trailers it was just weird 4. The Marvels wasn’t serious at all and neither was the trailers 5. The world of reel isn’t reliable at all 6. Don’t listen the test screenings, those same people praised The Flash & Thor Love & Thunder Don’t forget Marvel does give us dark projects here and there like Daredevil, Punisher, Defenders, Winter Soldier, GOTG 3, Thor 2, Eternals, Black Panther 2, or Secret Invasion. All that matters is if it’s good or not Even then 90% of the MCU Projects are PG-13 so they need to add some humor which isn’t a bad thing because people will get bored if there’s no fun with these films

Captain America the Winter Soldier has like zero humor in the movie, so you then think that The Winter Soldier is boring to you? Oh and be aware already that Brave New World is having a reshoot after the bad reception from the test screening. This is not looking good at all.

The only lie here is the one you’re telling to yourself. These trailers aren’t lying. They’re just showing the movie they’re advertising. Whether the final movie is good or bad, all trailers are supposed to advertise the movie. It’s what trailers are, how is it lying? It’s not straight up saying what the movies are. That would be lying. I genuinely can’t get around how dumb this is. And why are you taking it out on Captain America? That movie ISN’T EVEN OUT YET. And you automatically think it’ll be terrible? I don’t know if you’ve realized, but good movies can also have dark or good trailers like Logan. Or more comedic films like Infinity War or Endgame. They all have trailers like it. So you can’t automatically say a movie is terrible just because you don’t like recent Marvel movies. I’m rambling at this point, but this is actually insane

Also what would you expect for Quantumania? Ant Man is a comedy franchise. While the previous Captain America movies are quite dramatic (of course with dramatic trailers). So you shouldn’t expect something completely different. While there can be some arguments against this, this is just another reason why you’re overreacting
