Marvel should've never announced not re-casting T'challa on the heels of Chadwick's death. That was so impulsive and frankly such a emotional, stupid move and Black Panther 2 suffered from that decision. I hope they re-cast the role and continue the character like Chadwick would've most likely wanted.

They need to recast Tchalla. They need him as a strong face for the MCU moving forward. A shame you didn't have Emmanuel Noisette from Eman's Movie Reviews. He started the recast Tchalla campaign and brought it up in an interview with Nate Moore....Maybe it isn't too late? I'm sure he say yes.

Anyone who's upset by the situation, have an agenda or they are very ignorant. I personally liked not recasting. Then I had some POC explain the situation to me in a clear way. And I wish they had recast. My opinion changed. But at the same time I understand why they didn't immediately. Now with that said. I believe this to be the right call. Recasting now.

I'm glad Roxy called in and that she's okay. She and Steph were still able to do a TWG show tonight, so that's a good sign. I hope everyone's safe over there. Also, I'm glad to hear that Vivian is interested in watching Skeleton Crew with you. She should like it. Those kids are around her age and the show it just good anyway. Speaking of Star Wars, I'm very curious to see what Mangold's movie will be like if it's set 25,000 years before everything else. Hopefully, Filoni and Kennedy will let him make it, but you know how shit often goes with Lucasfilm. As far as T'Challa being recast, that might work if he's a variant from another universe. Those were some great casting choices from viewers. John David Washington and Aldis Hodge are right up there for me. And I know I keep saying it, but there's no good reason why Matt Reeves' Batman can't be in the DCU. Comics have always had both grounded and fantastical elements. In the case of Batman, he's not usually dealing with the fantastical when he's just in Gotham doing his thing. Having that stuff in the DCU wouldn't take any grounded stuff away from Batman. They can easily exist in the same universe as they do in the comics. Having two different Batmen doesn't make sense and it'll confuse the average audience member.

I've now actually seen the bit from the interview with reeves, and for me, yes, he does seem really hesitant about merging the universes. I personally don't think it would be as big an issue as most seem to think it would be. My worry comes from the possibility that James Gunn will eventually just throw the reeves world away, and I just think that would be a massive mistake!!!

I find it funny that your MCU (re)watch schedule kind of mirrors the release schedule of the movies/shows: starting out with one or two a year/week and slowly building to three or four a year/week. Also: Maybe watch Lord Of The Rings with Sam in the lead-up to the 'The Hunt for Gollum' movie that comes out next year.

They're literally about to tell a story about different universes crashing together, and setting up that familiar faces could take on new roles. Of course theyre going to recast T'challa goofy, because they can just explain it away as "Hes T'Challa from XYZ universe, not ours".

it was probably hard at the time for the whole cast and coogler. Boseman and the character were synonymous with each other. I liked that BP2 was about Grief. Now I think enough time has passed to have someone else’s interpretation on black panther. It could’ve been the necessary step towards a new black panther. If they have a story worth telling.

If it were possible I would’ve hoped that Mangold’s Dawn of the Jedi could come out first before the Mando movie. Mangold is on a high right now with A Complete Unknown and I think the story of his movie could be grand and epic if done well and interest people a little more.

Of course it's the right move. William Hurt died and they recast him. Terrence Howard and Hulk got recast from the jump. Why are people treating this like some sacred cow? It's a comic book superhero. RIP Chadwick, but it's silly to act like those shoes cannot be filled.

None of those guys were as impactful as boseman and black panther. He was synonymous with black panther. It was hardest on the cast and director. Part 2 being about grief might have been the necessary step towards a new black panther.

Those characters you mentioned didn't die in their respective movies. Rhody and Bruce are pretty much alive. Property (comic book IP) wise, it makes sense but I don't think fans of the movies (non comic book readers) would receive it well.

Black Panther is not a sacred cow and you can't have a Black Panther movie without Black Panther (as BP2 showed us).

It was the right move in 2022, and it's the right move in 2025/26. I think they learned that it maybe wasn't the right move to move away from him. They should've recasted him. No actor is bigger than the roll. Cahdwick wouldn't want the character to die and never return. To remove a true masculine character and a great role model for men and an entire race of people was a crime.

Skeleton Crew is a high quality show. Great effects, writing, acting, etc... The only problem for me is that it's so clearly aimed at kids like 10 years old and younger. It's a hair away from being the Teletubbies or something.

They can not do a recasting. T'challa is dead. It will need to be a variant or them somehow ageing up his son. You could technically say if it is his son then yes it would be a recasting of that boy, but they can not recast Boseman.
