I don't typically react to new stuff, but I couldn't pass this up! I need more one-offs like this. Also, more "Ted".

I knew you would like it. Did you catch his name is Jack Russell, like the terrier dog? Kids missed out on the older stuff, but you are old enough to remember them running the late saturday night showings. The people that did this 100% understood the scoring, opening & cut-aways for implied action/movement to update the old stuff to today. They wisely sped up the scenes in time (as you know the older shows are much slower). Those comics were before my time, but I do remember they appeared because the CCA had changed. J. Jonah Jameson's kid becomes a werewolf at some point. They did a solid 50's style werewolf too...I notice younger people are seeing it and not understanding it is the old style. And the same for Man-Thing...they did lots of work to give him an actual personality in a short time.

My favorite pseudo-callback was the framerate for the transformation in the shadows while also not showing it. Just a slow zoom in on Elsa as she sees him for who he is. So good!

I'd be down for more! There is so much left to this story. Like seeing Elsa become even more of a badass with the bloodstone, what Jack and Ted get up to, what was behind the closing door with the TVA guys? 🤔

Awesome! Yes, love these! Marvel doesn't do too hot on my channel, but it won't stop me from doing them. I might do the odd series. They are kinda my comfort watches so not 100 I'll do them but we'll see. I did the Guardians special which is great and as personal watches just finished She Hulk (which I thought was pretty fun!) and on Ms Marvel. That one I'm not as engaged with but it's a neat perspective of a kid figuring it all out.
@cheshirekat5282 жыл бұрын
@@JayBondReacts right on. I get it with comfort watching Marvel. Short reviews would be fun for conversation as well from time to time instead of reactions for Marvel. But absolutely keep some stuff for your chill time, totally understandable. The GOTG special was fun, as was She-Hulk. Although, both would be lower on a rewatch ranking for me. I tend to enjoy drama & trauma more than most comedy, unless it is dark sarcastic drama type comedy. My top 2 favorite characters in the MCU are Loki & Bucky, and Dark World is in my top 3 favorite movies, if ranking has to be a thing, I think my top picks tell you all you need to know about my taste in movies and tv, for the most part, there are always anomalies 😜 I have thoughts similar to yours about Ms.Marvel. I really enjoyed the last episode, it felt like a live action episode of the X-Men animated series. I was 11/12 when that show premiered and I was a big fan. It was my introduction to the world of Marvel. When I was a kid DC still ruled television and cinema, and I am not a superhero comic reader, my exposure to superhero’s all came from tv and movies. Looking forward to seeing what you watch next!

Savage Tales was an anthology magazine. I'm pretty sure Man-Thing's appearance was not in a Conan story, but in his own story. Edit: What with Man-Thing being the protector of the Nexus of Realities, I could be wrong, and his appearance may actually have something to do with Conan. But I'm pretty sure that whole storyline was later in his "career".

Nah, I probably wouldn't do that simply because it doesn't make sense to do on here or the other channels. That's awesome that you collect though. I almost exclusively have key issues as well cameos and 1st appearances. Except X-23, I have big chunk of every appearance she's made.

Both Swamp Thing and Man-Thing are copped from The Heap, a "muck monster" from the '40s. I'm glad they made Ted considerably more intelligent than his comic-book counterpart who indiscriminately burns anyone who is afraid of him, which makes personal interactions...difficult.

You didn't expect the mcu to have bits of humor? I was afraid it might have too much humor but it has the right amount (for a studio that can't resist themselves), just a couple things here and there. Zero humor would've been great too, but luckily what we got didn't take away from the overall tone.
@JayBondReacts2 жыл бұрын
