In Northern Idaho it is wheat harvest right now and on the feast of the assumption the combines are parked and the farmers are in mass. I always thought that was awesome.

As Christians it’s vital to trust God no matter what we are facing. I want to give up so bad! But God won’t allow me because he is our only strength in this world. As a single mom, things are tough on me. My husband passed years ago. I feel so alone. Both of my sons are autistic and non verbal. I’m constantly struggling to provide for my boys. Now that I’m home schooling them I’m having trouble getting their school supplies. I’m overwhelmed and so ashamed. Father God hear my prayers. My faith in you is strong! Even as I constantly struggle to pay my rent. And I constantly struggle to provide groceries for my children! I trust you Lord! I’m choosing to keep faith. Walking with faith is the most important thing us christian’s must do. That’s why love compassion and prayers are all we truly need. Please keep me in your prayers. Prayers are all I need.

Holy cow, this is one of the best reflections or information or explanation of so many things - the reason we are to celebrate feast days; Mary’s assumption not death, of course; the original ark of the covenant and Mary is the new ark of the covenant. I read earlier today that Mary did not need to die because death was brought on by sin and she was sinless so she didn’t have to die. I think that was the “ my Catholic family” daily readings/reflection today. Absolutely wonderful. I’m passing this around. WOW, GOD 🎶🙏🏻✝️❤️ thanks father Mike, for sharing your wisdom with us once again.

The key to understanding the Bible is understanding Typology. The Magesterium comes alive when you understand the Bible. You can have certainty in the Churches teachings when you can see how they flow from Scripture and echo it.

You just don’t get it… Christ is the center. Mary points to Him. She’s not calling attention to Herself. Suppose you are on a road. There are signs you look at to make site you are going to the right place. Jesus is the destiny, Mary is like the road signs. We do not look at Her for Her simply, it’s all for Jesus.

Mary's new priesthood, is our first love, and some of us are closer to that fiat then the rest. These whose hands are like ours, are our better halves. Shared Breathe, Body, wants, wills, and crosses. These are the easiest to have as beloved. We keep nothing; but freely give as was given to us. Beyond these beloved,our sacrifice is truly, not appreciated. We must do as Christ commands, our Father's will, which comes first: love Him and then love everyone else.

Through the Power of the Holy Spirit today Fr Mike gave the greatest exposition of type and shadow on the Ark and Mary. He must have gotten an A+ in that class in Seminary. The Assumption is my favorite Mary feast day. It is also my father's birthday my he rest in the Peace of the Lord.❤❤❤❤❤❤

The Trinity isn’t in the Bible but we know it’s true. We believe in many things that aren’t in the Bible. No where in the Bible does it mention the Bible or that everything that you believe has to be in the Bible. In fact the Bible wasn’t even put together for at least 200-300 years after Jesus resurrected. If you are referring to the assumption it is not in the Bible per se. Faith and reason make it believable that God would preserve Mary since she is the new Eve and the Ark of the covenant. Faith and reason can reveal much beauty, truth and goodness.

@@GMAAndy333 The trinity is a summary explanation of how God appears in the bible; it doesn't introduce anything new to the text. If Mary is supposed to be the new Eve and Ark of the covenant doesn't it seem unusual that outside of the gospels she is only mentioned once in passing in Acts? I would at least expect her to appear in Hebrews. Reason is only as good as its foundations, and this doctrine is built of assumption after assumption.

Scripture does **not** teach the idea that we need to send anyone for us to the throne of God to ask for grace or mercy, anyone including Mary. On the contrary, we are warmly invited to approach God's throne. Hebrews 4:14-16 ESV - *Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.* 2. That little word "until" shows that Mary was not perpetually a virgin. And, yes, it is in the original Greek. Grammar is not complex. Matthew 1:24-25 ESV - *When Joseph woke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him: he took his wife, but knew her not until she had given birth to a son. And he called his name Jesus.* 3. Jesus exalted the word of God and obedience to it above his family members. All doctrine unique to the Catholic church is unnecessary if Christ's sacrifice is complete. If Christ's sacrifice was perfect and he took away all sin past, present, and future than... Penance has no purpose. Purgatory has no point. Absolution is unnecessary. Need I go on? Yes, Christ's sacrifice on the cross is complete and Final. The Bible confirms this repeatedly. Flee this Anti-church. Trust In Christ Alone. Trust in him alone like you would trust a parachute. You can add nothing to a parachute by flapping your arms. Just as you can add nothing to the perfect and finished sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross for all of your sins. Do not cheapen the saviors work by adding mans tradition on to it. Flee and find a church that allows all of its members to drink from the cup of Christ, not just the priests.

As a revert Catholic ( a year ago) I just cannot accept this. There is no evidence of it. Which is why I will not go to Mass today ( I know it's a day of "obligation ") ...so since the bones/body of Joseph were never found are we assume there was an Assumption of him as well.. after all he played a vital part of Our Lords life and an angel spoke to him, he obeyed..God gave him a very special task as well..and he is the protector of the Church .. but no...

Totally understand. I, too, came back to the Church (20 years ago) and things like this seemed a stretch. But, then, a few years ago it suddenly just hit me - and I totally believed. Now I have zero doubt - and Fr just added a few more scripture passages that only solidifies my belief. I trust when your heart is ready, God will make it perfectly clear and you will have zero doubt. 🙏

As a non catholic, here is my take on this subject: I can see a few scriptural connections, but some sound like a real stretch. Mary was human and all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Two prophets, Enoch and Elijah, in the old testament was taken body and soul to heaven (clearly stated). They may be the two witnesses (Revelation) to come back who are then killed because of their witnessing. And as the Bible states: Hebrews 9:27, As it is appointed for men to die once, but after this comes the judgment ... Jesus was God in the flesh and he paid the penalty (death) for our sins in the flesh, but rose from the dead in His heavenly body. There really is nothing I have read in the Bible that indicates to me that Mary ascended body and soul or was to be revered, almost as much as, if not more then, Jesus. Certainly, she is to be applauded for saying Yes to God’s plan. If she hadn’t, someone else would have. Now, what she may be in heaven, truly, only God knows. Yes, she carried, bore, and raised Jesus, but other then that, I see no connection to my salvation. John 14:6, Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." Acts 4:12, There is no salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. 1 Timothy 2:5, There is one God and one mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all. 🙏🏻✝️

Mary was never assumed into heaven. Dont you think the God-breathed word would have said such a thing (as it did with Elijah in the chariot of fire, or Paul being taken up in a vision.) Please stop worshipping Mary, you can say you dont worship her, but giving her all these weird pseudo-godlike qualities say otherwise. Most catholics that i have talked to and interacted with believe several things about mary that the bible doesn't even remotely imply. That she was sinless (blasphemy), that she should be prayed to or can even hear your prayers in heaven (chapter and verse please), that she is the mediator between man and God (Scripture clearly states in hebrews, there is one God and ONE mediator, the man christ Jesus). Again you can say all you like "we dont worship her, we swear" but if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it probably is.
