Wow, Mary sure knew what she was talking about-- the danger of "game" shows taking over because they were cheaper to produce --- and lo, here today, TV has been taken over by "reality" shows. Kudos to you, Ms Moore -- and btw, a HUGE Thank You to both ladies for their talent and careers that brought so much happiness to my life for over 40 years. Just WOW!

Mary was brilliant to bring up the danger of game shows taking over. Yes, it was in the end reality and zombie/doctor/crime shows, but she's so brilliant she knew it was happening before we did. I love her and I care about television too. Bring back the great tv! Ra ra ra. 😉

OMG! At 4:50 MARY TOTALLY PREDICTED THAT RIGHT! She said that game shows would take over. Well...reality shows (nothing but game shows) have taken over. MARY IS SO SMART! She it the nail on the head.

Mary may not be a "people's favorite personality". But, she knew where we were going.

The Mary and Rhoda movie was a bomb!! The best part about that movie was when Rhoda and Mary met in the street. And they jumped up and down excited about seeing each other.

But, it beat Everybody Loves Raymond (at its peak and in the same time slot) in the ratings.

Phone a friend lol yup I'd pick Valerie Harper too 😊 Mary had a great point about game shows taking over..I feel that's happening in primetime while talk shows are taking over daytime and replacing daytime dramas!💯📺

I understand what they wanted to do with this movie but I have to admit, it would have been nice to have more references to the MTM and Rhoda shows. But Mary & Rhoda is still such a great movie, it really was cool to see these two together on screen again.

i don't agree......This was not to be a reunion as MTM said. Yet Cloris DID ask to be in it and MTM declined her.

Valérie Harper was very outspoken and outgoing, as well, while Mary Tyler Moore seemed somewhat kind of layed back and more quiet to herself, during the course of this interview. However, I definitely agree with Mary Tyler Moore, when she mentioned about these so-called insignificant stupid reality or game shows, during her statement, which has created such a sudden change, in the field of the entertainment world business of television, throughout the years and as we see it today. Thus! may! their souls rest in peace and thank! you so much, for bringing back these wonderful memories, from The Rosie O'Donnell Show, on the KZbin channel. Johnny, from Montreal, Canada ❤️

I was thinking about what Valerie said that there were no female TV screenplay writers before "The MTM Show." Well, "I Love Lucy" had one female writer throughout the entire series run, along with two male co-writers, named Madelyn Pugh.

Mary was sick that day! She seems irritable and defensive.

Did anyone notice the “competitive” tension between Mary & Valerie?

yup....but I also see a SUPPORTIVE streak.

They reminded me more of two old friends who have known each other so long that they have no pretenses whatsoever, and they know what the other can handle. And Mary was aggressive, Valerie was laid back and easy going. They seem more like they understand each other and are talking like they would if they were standing around the kitchen than in Front of an audience. I for one appreciated the realness of it 😉

I had to come and comment. I love them both so much. HUGE fan of MTM and love and adore Valerie. I DID notice something at the start of this interview....They kinda highlighted the witt and humor of RHODA. I think Mary was the star, but yeah, Valerie is a firecracker in comparison. Now remember... I am a HUGE FAN. I watch the reruns all of the time all winter! LOVE THEM ALL
