this is one of their more low-key songs, I highly suggest listening to "How to disappear completely" or "Exit music (for a film)"

"How to Disappear Completely". Radiohead quickest to make one cry (it has done it 3 times to people I sent it to for real) "How To Disappear Completely" - off of anotherof their mega-acclaimed albums Kid A (though those are music critic so who cares but it is a mind twisting album) - that song is powerful stuff - and many many more but THAT is the one....hey man - props for honesty and giving it a try. I love this song but I loved the album OK Computer it was on as my favorite all time album so perhaps that is part of it. All 5 band members went to school together in Oxfordshire and they have the same exact lineup for all 9 albums. A rarity for sure. Even the same engineer who did this song has produced the last 7 albums and they even have the same album artwork artist. It is easy to see why all that and some obnoxiously obsessive fans turn people off, but it is a shame as they have made some of the most amazing music of the last 30 years. Surely you have heard "Creep" at the least!
@jamielee45702 жыл бұрын
Oh man, that song. Agreed. When you are feeling down, and just want to sob and be down for a moment (to realize that you need to pick yourself back up and keep moving on!!..) that is the song. It’s so beautiful. And I think that several of the band members feel that it’s the best song they did off of Kid Gosh. So good.

@@malpeice2 Cool! Glad you enjoy it - they're range of sounds is super varied as they started off a straight rock band but tried to change it up with each of their 9 albums - but their songwriting is one constant. If you liked that one check out "Exit Music For a Film" - they wrote it to be the end credits to the 90's DiCaprio version of Romeo and Juliet so that def comes out in the lyrics and again, kind of bleak but truly beautiful song. Good music is all over the place - this band isn't for everyone but once they get their hooks in you they are something special. Peace and Love!

Hi guys! So many things to say! First of all, the lullaby is the perfect form for the song since it's about people being stucked in their (destructive) everyday life. Also, I think Charles is completely right about the album experience, it's the limit of the reactions videos, not all tracks are made to be consumed instantly. But JB the drummer ;) , I can promise you that even if Radiohead is a wildly popular band, it doesn't mean their discography is not full of treasures. With Tool, they're my favorite artists (I would add Portishead and Massive Attack, probably). About great song that you could like, I'd mention : Street Spirit (The Bends) ; Paranoid Android, Let Down & Climbing Up The Walls (OK Computer) ; How To Dissappear Completely, Optimistic and Idioteque (Kid A) ; I Might Be Wrong (Amnesiac) ; There There, Where I End and You Begin (Hail To The Thief), Reckoner (In Rainbows) and... that's quite a lot already :) Anyway I really enjoy the vibe of your channel, your humour and honesty, cheers from France!

Charles nailed it as far as they're better to digest in an album format. This song always reminded me of lullaby.

Radiohead has been my favorite band since I was a child, about 15 years ago. I listened to every song from every album. Yet I stemmed away from them during my adult years. I heard “Daydream” as one of the most recent tracks, but it was beautiful. Captured everything I loved about Thom Yorke growing up and I related to it as much now as I ever would have. That’s true art. Thank you for delving into them.

If you want to get hit in the feels by Radiohead, I think I can suggest some that you might like: * "True love waits (Live in Oslo)", this one is better than their studio version and can grab at your heart strings. * "Wolf at the door" or "There There" which are both drum forward with a haunting melody and good build up. * "The Tourist" it is slower paced but has a lot of emotional build up.

They are out of this world especially tom yorke is kinda mad about making realy weird note combinations and frequency play in nearly every album ... So I’ll be following suggestions here too… My top songs from them are “Creep”, “Paranoid Android”, “Karma Police” and maybe “High and Dry”…. Creep is like Sober for me. First song I heard from them and the only one I liked for a long time. If you want a tearjerker that’s not Radiohead, try AIC Nutshell (unplugged version prob) , Snuff from Slipknot (studio version) Black from Pearl Jam… Loving the couch vibes ❤️

Hey brother - I am about as serious as it gets as a RH fan and we all love them for personal reasons but that is maybe the last song in their discography I'd recommend to turn someone on. I enjoy it but it took me like 5 years. But we are all friends here...for me I tell people to listen to "There, There" or "Paranoid Android" or "House of Cards" - "Fake Plastic Trees" maybe - not as the best but as a way to ease people in - to me the joy of the band are their 5 year challenging songs but it - I shouldn't even question this - as I write it - or want an explanation - the diversity of how their music hits is why they rule. So I take all of that back and will LIKE your comment!

Dude's been everywhere for a while now though, and has worked with big big names, in different genres, sometimes changing hats in projects (i mean, come on : Enrique Iglesias AND Nicko McBain from Iron Maiden ? What are the odds ?) If you're interested, may i recommend the video NAMM 2015, live at the dunloop both ? It's 11:24 minutes long but it'd be awesome to have other musicians react to it You guys rock, and i definitely agree on the sitcom category for this Radiohead track 😂 100%

Spider-Man 2, wrestling and sitcom are such limited, condescending, childish ways to describe music as musicians. Though I understand you may be trying to dumb it down for post millennials. As a musician I can’t understand how narrow beanie guys palette is. I highly recommend learning to play these new genres on your instruments, you may learn some things and better ways to describe music. Also stop picking singles from the band’s catalogue, deep cuts is where bands shine. Just my opinion, not gospel😉. Love is love.

Three tips for reviewing: 1) turn your phone off and don't look at it, 2) watch the video as well as listening, 3) listen to the lyrics. With Radiohead, it's not just the words, but how the words are delivered in a totally unexpected way (e.g. "bring down the government", sung in sweet and gentle tones).
