Just got out my Maschine Studio, having not really used it since I got it. Other tutorials just had me lost, assuming everyone new the equipment and what all the buttons do. I have to say this is absolutely the BEST and most useful. I am a beginner and with your help, especially with the chords/arpeggiator functions, I'm beginning to make a tune at last. Thank you.

Duuudddee, this is so inspiring. I've been stuck in a music making rut for a long time, trying to finish tracks in Cubase, doing it the old fashioned linear timeline thing. I've been re-imagining my workflow though, and I think switching to Bitwig will help with big picture song arrangements & automation performances toward the end of finishing a track, but this puppy maschine studio looks like the true song builder inspirational workflow that I've been looking for all along. Big fan of all your videos, I always learn so much. Cheers!!

Really great. Question... are your fingers just that tight that you're hitting perfectly or do you have it auto quantized to hit on the beat? The learning curve on Maschine is so tough for me. My ADD always hits and I get super frustrated. This makes it look so easy.
@MattCellittiMusicTutorials10 жыл бұрын
I have it set to Quantize Record yes. You can take it a step further by selecting PLAY/REC Quantize setting so the pad playing will even be quantized. This can be helpful for playing at very fast bpms but can also feel awkward too...just have a go at it to see if you like it
@DJKento10 жыл бұрын
Matt Cellitti Thanks. I think I'm going to be taking the maschine online course this next year. I have Maschine but right now I use it as a controller for my DJ sets and remix decks in traktor but never produce music because I feel so overwhelmed. This helped a lot. the 2.2 update seems very user friendly.
@MattCellittiMusicTutorials10 жыл бұрын
It would be great to have you in the course! It's like a twelve week crash course in everything production using Maschine as the main tool. You'll learn Maschine obviously, but also a fair amount of sound design, mixing, sampling, processing, and arranging. Call into the school and speak to Admissions if you'd like more info.

Thanks for the tutorial Matt! very excited about this release. I've tried installing on Mavericks and Yosemite through service center and from the disk Image file. Trying to sample a record and chop in to slices via slice mode makes no noise anymore so I have to individually chop each slice manual. Only since 2.2 update. However slice mode for the same purpose works with Maschine stock sounds.

It still works - it just applies the slices to C -2 so you have to octave down in Pad Mode a few times

I've noticed on the Native Instruments page for Maschine 2.2 they have images of the Mikro displaying a watered down version of the Scales, Arps and Chords on the Mikro's screen. It seems as if you can still access them and use them from the Mikro, just without as much detail.

HELP PLEASE!!! This might be a user error, but it seems like a glitch to me! When I am in Chord mode and i try to copy, paste or move the midi on my sequencer in any type of way, it alters the the sound of the chord randomly. On another note, your videos are inspiring and incredibly informative. Thanks Mr. Cellitti!!!

Hey I have a maschine mikro and have the 2.2 update. I make primarily sampled based hip hop and I previously was able to sample wav. form files into my beats, now when I do so and I click "apply" I get no sound out of the pads.. any solution on this? If there's anyway you could help me out that would be much appreciated. Would be totally nonsensical if they eradicated this feature in the new update. Please get back to me, thank you
@spoony0142810 жыл бұрын
kind of wish they would do tuts with just the mk2. I reckon the vast majority of people would be using this model and I always hate being made to feel like I have an inferior piece of hardware (even though its obviously not worth getting the studio unless you have the cash to burn)
@MattCellittiMusicTutorials10 жыл бұрын
I always use Studio because it gives the viewer more visual feedback on the screens and can be a helpful visual aid in a tutorial. No reason you should feel that way as we clearly don't suggest that.

I have the same problem with mk2. The project appears to be open on the hardware still when the software has been closed. So I pressed a pad to see what would happen... and it went into MIDI mode. So I just pressed Shift+Control and it went into the normal standby mode again. It's not really a proper solution, but I assume NI will patch it. It seems to be a problem with 2.2

Hey, I have a question and i'm sorry but it's not relevant to this video. But the NI forum turned up nothing and I... didn't know where else to go! haha. So I had this track all worked out and recorded and almost done. One of the banks is loaded with samples from various parts of a song. I had all the sounds pitched differently and with varying effects. I don't know what happened... but now when I make any change at all to one of the sounds in the bank, it alters all the rest. For example, if I change the pitch of one sound, all of the other sounds follow. I'm not sure what I did to cause that, and it was working before. driving me nuts. any idea? its like they all chained together and I'm not sure how. MK2. thanks.
