You can get used to either one its just a little learning curve bump to get past, I did find the Maschine a bit more intuitive starting out than the mpcs past the 2500 for the same reason though. I really love that the sounds are on the pad they're assigned to no matter how you sequence it instead of assigning it to a program and keeping track of the tracks, the scene/pattern references make for less backtracking if you decide to build more on a beat.

Such great content man. This is just great. Got my Machine+ on Monday and while I'm pretty good at understanding the basic concepts of my new gadget this is really helpful in filling out some of the tiny frustrations. It would be great to get an explanation on tactics on why and when you would decide to create new groups of sounds.
@BlezzBeats4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much bro! People seem to lay it out a little differently. If you're a fingerdrummer for example, you want as many sounds as possible within immediate reach so you would place them all in the same group. I tend to organize it like I would with stems. So I'll have one group for my pad synths, one for my lead synths, one for bass sounds, and even divide the drums according to how I commonly mistreat them etc. Kick group, snare group, hihat group, percussion group. For one it gets easier to work with patterns: soloing/muting groups as you're working on a section, removing them in certain sections, applying effects on group level etc. And for two it makes the export process much easier if you attack it from that angle from the beginning: just export the groups.
@Fauxleroid4 жыл бұрын
@@BlezzBeats Sorry I edited that comment as I wasn't expecting such a fast reply. After watching the video a second time it began to sink in. It's all about thinking which sections you are going to want to have muted at certain times and pattern lengths.

Just Went through the process of opening a project in maschine 2.0. I think the best thing they could do is make Storage and Controller mode the same. I think the MPC Live is like this, go to controller mode and your drive pops up as well to open projects. As of now, you have to go to storage mode, open the project in maschine, save project with samples, exit storage mode, enter controller mode, then use the + as a controller with your project in Maschine software. Maybe i missed something, if so, hit me up.

Real question for the real beat heads.. I like making my tunes on my opz.. I love it.. do I need this or a live or something? Or is my opz enough? I'd like to rephrase the classic term, however it goes. It doesn't matter at all what you have if you can't make fire with it - It matters slightly more what you have if you can and know what you want to do.
@laineykat47064 жыл бұрын
Simple way to say it... the M+ can make more sounds than the OP-Z cause it has more synths and can store more samples. And your beats can be longer because M+ has infinity patterns and OP-Z has 16-step. I love my OP-Z but if you want to make a beat that has all kinds of thrills and changes, you would want a more complicated machine.

TBH I though the MPC Live was a fkn headache... this is even more but i found that once I understand how to do the sh*t i kinda do things faster. With the Akai it was always a fkn struggle even after mastering the software. I love the M+ pads are so smooth like my Push 2... MPC sold...

Can you rename scenes, clips sounds etc. in standalone?

I haven't found it and I've just asked about it, it should definitely be implemented there since they have the keyboard-function in place for saving and entering wifi details

elektron digitone and Roland SP404A or... Maschine+ ?
@BlezzBeats4 жыл бұрын
Very different options there 😁 wanna do some fm synthesis, some sampling/playback or both and 20 other things?
@freejazzbone4 жыл бұрын
@@BlezzBeats ya, definitely utilize the Digitone MIDI sequencer to sequence the sp404a, plus nice stereo inputs on Digitone w/FX and still be able to piggyback something else into the sp404a rca inputs, but, i guess the new Maschine+ is a complete one-stop music box now, sounds great, great, humorous workshops Blezz! thanks
@BlezzBeats4 жыл бұрын
@@freejazzbone Thanks bro! I have to warn you about a big big minus about the sp404a though if you're not aware of it, theres no way to pitch properly in semitones. I'm not a big fan of using it for anything but playing full tracks back and resampling fun for sound design myself. So dont expect features of really most other gear under the umbrella of "samplers", many people do put an effort into cramming the most out of it still!
@freejazzbone4 жыл бұрын
@@BlezzBeats interesting comment Blezz, i guess it would depend on what the pitch accuracy was on the original sample, then processing further on an sp404a, weird, thanks for the heads up, i’ve got the Digitone and appreciate the stereo inputs but i hate to see features not used, like the 4 extra MIDI tracks, maybe use Roland MC101 with 4 drum tracks set up (4x16 individual samples w/FX) triggered by Digitone’s 4 track MIDI sequencer, i don’t think the Digitone or MC101 would have MIDI song position pointer because of their pattern based structure, that would be the same, by the way for any MASCHINE hardware, it’s all pattern based, but the Maschine+ is lookin’ real good!
@BlezzBeats4 жыл бұрын
@@freejazzbone Essentially yes I mean you literally can't spread out the pitch in semitones and play stuff that way, for sounds that have little to no timbre characteristics you can use the pitch effect and resample it to every pad you want a different tone on, for other sounds the algorhithm just doesn't work well for that purpose. Its real fun to mess sounds up with though. What about the Digitakt couple duo? 😁

can we do automation of fx across the songmode?
@BlezzBeats Жыл бұрын
Yeah sure, either just have unique patterns and clips or to keep it a bit more dynamic you can route your audio into groups of fx that have clips stretching across the whole song

Floating around 30-50% is pretty normal even though nothing is going on in there so you gotta see it in an exponential way kinda if that makes sense. Thank you!

Hi! When you sample from an external HW synth (driven by Maschine MIDI) and try to sample a few bars using the SYNC setting, is the clip spot on, or are tails cut or gaps in the beginning? Is there any way to compensate for latency?
@BlezzBeats4 жыл бұрын
Resampling and sampling audio seems to be no problem but I haven't tried it out with the midi sync, will put it on the to do list

is there a way to visualise the automation (or modulation) track from the hardware in the new update?
@BlezzBeats4 жыл бұрын
Gotta look into that but in my use so far it's been a ear thing
@muitosabao4 жыл бұрын
No, you can't see the automation on m+ yet only on the software.
@alf1o14 жыл бұрын
Hope they implement a way to see the modulation on hdw in a future update. And also a good way to edit the modulation too. From what I see on Mpc one, automation editing is very nice on the touchscreen, you can basically draw in whatever you want. NI need to find a good way to edit automation without just turning the knobs in real-time. Some of the best sounding automation cannot be just dialed in by turning the knob and has to be drawn in.
@muitosabao4 жыл бұрын
@@alf1o1 yeah. After the improvements that are coming next week for the arranger (clips) my big issue with Maschine now is automation. It's pretty bad!

Hey there, i got the Maschine for 4 Days now. Is there a way to freestyle something without clicks of metronome & without a grid or bpm? Because i'm also a Loopstation RC-505 user and I like that workflow. Push "rec" freestyle a bit & push again "rec" for an infinity loop. Is there a way? Thank you.
@BlezzBeats Жыл бұрын
Nope unfortunately not, you need a set bpm to loop on it. I’d love that feature though, the 505 is so dope.
