I learned, from some elder modelers in my old club, that the big secret to smoothe surface textures is 3M Acryl White automotive glazing puttv. It goes on easy, dries rock hard, and can be sanded smoothe as glass.

I’m in the process of painting my MK44 ammoknight, but I’ve noticed the front hatch hits the small greeble on the left just behind the hatch when opening it. It’s fine full open or fully closed. I know these are usually kept in a static pose, so it might be normal?
