Maserati MC12 GT1 Onboard HUGE Sounds!

You jump onboard the insane Maserati MC12 Corsa for a full lap around SPA-Francorchamps! The Corsa is the ultimate track version based on the road legal version but modified for the GT1 championship and limited to 12 units. Its 6.0L V12 engine now produces 755hp / 710nm with a total weight of 1150kg, enough for a good 330kph of top speed. As you can see it was raining and this car doesn't feature the ABS by making the Corsa a tough car to drive in these conditions!

it looks like a sequential gearbox, he just pulls/pushes the stick shifter (same as paddle shifters, just a little less handy)

Yes, i think this is a manual-sequential dog box. Downshifts are on clutch, and so is the start from a stop is on clutch. Upshifts are directly engaged without clutch...

@@aldean2984 correct, but it's not rare to see the first 3 gears engaged with the clutch too, especially when it comes to these events, reason is that with the clutch you reduce the wear of the transmission in any case

Gizfreak​ Its the gearbox/transmission it has straight cut gears instead of helical cut gears that you will find in a road car, straight cut gears produce lots of noise because of there shape. The reason why race cars use straight cut gears is to do with weight you can put more load in spur gear transmission then a helical cut one with out adding so much weight to make it stronger as you would have to do with helical cut ones.

its the racing gearbox that produces this sound ;) , not this " supercharger " u talk about its called " Straight Cut Gears " or a " Dogbox " transmission
