With the new AMD5 out with AI, this will hopefully get discounted as it is old news. Bearing in mind that AI will become a major feature, and if you aim to keep a laptop for 5-7 years, I recommend waiting for the new AMD AI-certified versions. AI may not be compelling at the moment, but having tasted Apple Intelligence, I know the potential is there, and I certainly would not recommend anyone in August 2024 to buy a non-AI machine (Co-Pilot). Also, having the LPDDR5X superfast 8000Mhz RAM would mean better performance in most tasks, including AI, and I can see why AMD did not want to be second-class and now have soldered RAM in their latest release. The RAM in this is a negative for a laptop you will keep for up to seven years, especially as there is no sign that SODIMM will have that fast RAM as LPCAMM2 takes up that fight. But if you are happy with these limitations and, most importantly, get a good deal, this is a solid ultrabook for some. But it would be sensible to wait for the new Intel, more AMD releases and the astonishing performant M4 in the next 2-3 months.

I have 2 questions to your preferred display choice: the 1920x1200 IPS Anti-Glare, Non-Touch, 400 nits, 60Hz, 100% sRGB, Low Power, Low Blue Light: 1. does the blue light filter influence the color white? So does the panel still shows a true white or is it more green or yellow? 2. isn't the low power panel a slower one? What about ghosting? Is it noticeable when watching 60fps videos? I am asking because I have a similar panel (same specs) in my HP Elitebook 14 G10 (AMD 7540U) and both points are a big issue with it. Thanks a lot!

What are the main differences between this model and P14s gen5 amd if under the same specs?
@adequatequality3 ай бұрын
The build and design is pretty much the same except you get the HS series of the AMD processors on the P14s, some ISV certifications, an a RJ45 ethernet port. If you don't care about any of that, I would say the T14 Gen 5 is the better option due to the U series AMD processors which won't have the loud fan noise and excess heat issues as on the P14s

Hi im Troy McCleure. You may remember me from the first T14 video 😂. I still have my Gen 1 T14 Ryzen. Whats the difference, is it a massive upgrade? I can play all the games I want to already alongside work and media consumption etc, so I guess not.
@MashITTech3 ай бұрын
hahaha that was my first video ever! Looks so bad when I watch it now 🤣 IT is a large upgrade in CPU and a good upgrade in GPU performance over the years but if your current T14 still performs well I would wait for sure. There is a Ryzen mobile cpu coming next year with a huge GPU increase so definitely wait for that!

Just bought a new gen 3 with 40gb of ram intel version for 500.

A shame about the battery life. I would've expected it to be somewhat similar to the Gen 4 since the CPU/screen isn't really any different but seems the internal layout choices are what's causing the lower numbers
@MashITTech2 ай бұрын
yes, I have since confirmed with other users that my battery life is the norm sadly. I had hoped my unit was a dud :(

M gonna order t14s gen 5 with ryzen 7 pro but saw some people complaining about the sleep/hibernation issue. Did u notice any such issue?
@MashITTech3 ай бұрын
What issue? I have had no issue with sleep but I don’t use hibernation. The only issue I have had is the poor battery life compared to the gen 4

@@MashITTech oh. should I rather prefer a gen 4? I am looking for all the advice i can get before deciding. thank you in advance
@MashITTech3 ай бұрын
Only if you prioritise battery life. Everything else was better on gen 5 except battery. It has better speakers, performance, upgradable ram better vent placement etc
@apoorvarao97763 ай бұрын
@@MashITTech how much of a compromise is the battery? sorry if this sounds dumb. significant number oh hours? I also imagine tht ryzen 7 pro has better battery management hence asking
@MashITTech3 ай бұрын
I am getting 3 hours more light use on the generator 4 so it is significant

Hows the thermals on heavy load? Does it throttle?
@MashITTech3 ай бұрын
thermals have been great on heavy load. As an example when running a game of dota which pegs the CPU and GPU, this laptop can hold a solid 24w on balanced and 28w on load. My Gen 4 with 7780u starts at 24/28 but slowly drops to 15w/20w over time which is really annoying

I have spoken with other users who are also getting similar run times to me so sadly it is not just a problem with my model. Maybe lenovo will fix with a BIOS/Driver as it should be getting way more
