I met Corey Taylor (singer) outside a concert in Sydney a while back. Spent like 20 minutes talking shit with him and watching him talk to other random fans that came up to him. Always excusing himself from us to take a photo or whatever. One of the nicest dudes I have met.

I met them when they did the first knotfest so it wasn’t a tour it was just one show and they all were amazingly nice and took the time to talk to all the fans

At the very end of Nightmare it shows a lighted drum set with no one behind it....that's a tribute to The Rev. He was the drummer, he passed away during the recording of the album. RIP REV!!

I ALWAYS tear up when I see the end of this video. I even cried when I saw it performed at a live show. The Rev's death was probably one of the hardest celebrity deaths I've ever experienced. A7X got me through some seriously hard stuff as a teenager and they're still my favorite band.

The song Nightmare in and of itself is a representation. In an interview, M Shadows, the lead singer, stated Nightmare was a representation of a man who is trapped in hell or a nightmare. And he cant escape from said hell and its the worst thing in the world. As for the song itself, there are several references to one of the band members, who is not present in the video. Their late drummer, James "The Rev" Sullivan passed away on December 28th, 2009. The Drumsets in the video are all previous sets he used including the Last one shown which was part of the 2008 Taste of Chaos tour. The spiders, believe it or not, are also a reference. In the music video for Afterlife, Sullivan laid down and had spiders, crawl on him, even though he was arachnaphobic. The music video for Nightmare was based on Sullivans favorite movie, Jacobs Ladder.

Synyster Gates is easily one of the top modern guitarist alive today. The man is about technically sound as it comes even at blazing speed he has amazing clarity, also despite him playing very fast at times he always uses his Jazz influence to implicate Melodic play into his solos. His sweeping level is unworldy as he has very nice melodic sweeps that you can feel not just be like yup that's a sweep. He has so much emotion in his playstyle which not many metal guitarists put into their guitar work.

bro i like that your asked hard questions about mental shit and medications. I have seen medications really ruin good people and make them far less then they were. I wont get started on my personal opinions about meds. ill summarize on medications. my brother died from an overdose of prescription meds. I damn near died on prescription meds when a psych crossed meds with something that went badly and didnt ask my regular doctor. my other brother had a similar thing happen to him. and my last brother killed himself from the death of my first brother overdosing. I have seen some serious evil from doctors casually tossing around pills. I got off all medications and just eat well and fuckin exercise. its changed my life. keep diggin into metal man this music will seriously bring you some insights. I have listened to all these bands since i was a young buck and its helped me bring perspective to shitshow situations constantly.
