@ronin5802Ай бұрын
Fyi, triggers trigger in turn order from the active player, regardless of that trigger's source. So Flusterstorm's storm trigger will go on top of the active players Rhystic if you're countering their Consult. The same is true for Birgi, so if you cast a spell on another player's turn and they have a Rhystic and you have a Birgi, you can use that mana to pay since your trigger resolves first. Priority goes in order from the person who owns the highest object on the stack. So like if Person A has a Rhystic, and it's person B's turn and they cast a spell, Person B will first have priority on their Rhystic trigger, then it goes around, and once that resolves Person A will have priority on their spell. :/

@worms35 you get to go lower for necro, instead of having to stay above 10 or so life. It's especially relevant if you need to worry about surviving a rotation afterwards, since you don't get the cards until your end step and might not be able to win with flash stuff like Born Upon the Wind.

It punishes players in seats after you holding a fish or t1 rystic, it punishes players who kept a rock + twister hand, etc. It's only in a storm deck where you would ever hold a spell like this, but I don't think that play style makes a lot of sense outside of storm, force of nature so...

You're only required to choose a real card name (rule 201.4). There's actually no rule about not choosing un-cards, presumably because there's never any gameplay reason to do so (it's just as easy to choose a card that you know nobody will be playing). It's debatable whether you can choose the names of cards that cannot go in decks at all (e.g., conspiracies or planes), but again, this makes no difference.

Culling Ritual and Wheels are the only things to play around, I think, when deciding to play mox amber & co. early on if they arent yet useful. Culling isnt super popular, and wheels are in a good portion of decks. Id say its more optimal to bet on playing them into a potential Culling than keeping them in hand and getting wheeled. @@matthewmihajlovich4390 that would have stopped Nate from losing immediately but it may not have changed the outcome. Wolf’s consultation was going to attempt to stop the oracle etb (presumably consign to memory). So it’s a question of whether that card would have been in the top 6 of Wolf’s library versus whether Nate had or would have found one more piece of interaction. I don’t know enough information to estimate the probability of the oracle etb still resolving.

@crazykhespar8487 that correct just in case someone else has a dauthi or reanimate a dauthi

Replacement effects don't function on timestamp, they allow the controller/owner to decide as they said in the video. See rule 616.1
@ThelastpraetorАй бұрын
Replacement effects apply in the order of most recent, same way that two Opposition Agents work, so Dauthi would apply first over Rest in Peace
@therealax6Ай бұрын
You're thinking of continuous effects (aka layers). Replacement effects are decided by the controller of the thing being replaced. (Refer to rule 616.1.)
@ThelastpraetorАй бұрын
@therealax6 Will have to check with a Judge on that one, the rule you're referring to doesn't cover this instance
@adubiousnotion5118Ай бұрын
The first example under 616.1 does cover this.
@crazykhespar8487Ай бұрын
With replacement effects like RiP and Dauthi, I believe the most recent effrct is used. If the RiP was bounced and replayed, it would replace Dauthi's effect, but Dauthi would retain its void counters on the cards it applied its counters to, and would function normally for its tap ability.
@borisfishman4218Ай бұрын
Timestamps apply when layers are involved. With replacement effects, the owner picks the order. "419.9a If two or more replacement or prevention effects are attempting to modify the way an event affects an object or player, the affected object’s controller (or its owner if it has no controller) or the affected player chooses one to apply. Then the other effect applies if it is still appropriate"

So on that last play, Dylan: you have to hold priority on Thassa’s oracle, if you ask anyone at the table if it’s good or their good, at that point you no longer have priority and are giving up the action, so you technically weren’t allowed to play consult on top of the Thassa, you have to hold priority and cast demonic THEN ask for responses, not drop Thassa ask if it’s good then cast consultation, it’s not how game state actions work Also, Bowmasters is probably the best black card in CEDH right now, it’s an absolute menace
