Well, that's how Morinth works- mind games, designed to trick the individual into seduction. It's also why understanding and thus finding sympathy for her is nigh on impossible, as if you believe everything she does is designed towards her own selfish ends instead of being a genuine emotion, then that's how every word will seem....take her hope that Shepard might finally be the one and her sadness at being alone as sincere, though, like a mask dropping for the briefest of moments, and then you have a much more human and complex character. Besides reason PsyrenXY mentioned, another reason could be due to the Blabbermouth on the ship, EDI. I think part of the reason for one of the conversations you can have with EDI in ME3 is due to how most of the squad seems to know everything that is going on with Shepard. Hence her being told by Liara that EDI can't be trusted to keep things secret. If I remember rightly, Kasumi isn't the only one to comment on Morinth being on board. Which just makes the whole conversation you have with Morinth about her pretending to be Samara a bit silly.

y, and how will she be able to escape normandy? not like the crew wont figure out that shepard is suddenly gone missing and there is no way for her to get a shuttle without shepards authorization since joker has to open the normandy for her to use that shuttle. And there is also no way she can fight her way through, i mean she would be able to take down kasumi, atleast not silently, since kasumi knows that she is morinth and wont take her guard down near her. She might skip kasumi and go after miranda i am sure she'd be able to kill miranda without anybody noticing, and probably garrus, who never turns around when the door opens right behind him. I guess she would kill nobody, because she could kinda try to get to cic, and get to the bridge and kill joker, and try to take control of the normandy, travel fast to a known location crash on a planet, and than try the escape, but with edi around, that might could cause some trouble for her, and edi can warn everyone, but edi would be rational and avoid gunfire at the cic, so she just contacts grunt to go after her with a knife. I am pretty sure morinth would know she fucked up hard the second she sees the elevator door opening and the fucking crazy tank bred killer krogan stepping out of it with 2 huge omni blades on each arm. That just does not make any sense that she kills shepard on the normandy. They should have done it like on another location where she invites him.

And about the addiction, the reason why she sucumbed to it was because throught out her entire life she was looked as an outcast and a monster, even before she began doing what she does. And what's worst, is that she was raised to accept, and even believe, that prejudice. That's why when she ran, she decided to accept this side of her, because not doing so would be the same as accepting what her society and her mother tried to teach her. Would you want that ? Would you want to live believing yourself to be a monster and hating yourself until the end of your days ? And I don't think Sherpard's betrayal towards Samara was that stupid, maybe Sherpard thought that if she was able to resist her seduction, maybe she could also redeem her.

They didnt "lazily" give her anything. Her motivations and character were well established from the beginning. She's Ardat Yakshi. She has a taste for special people. She likes long, challenging hunts. If you are dumb enough to believe you have her loyalty or arrogant enough to think you will survive her attempts on your life, you suffer the consequences. If anything, it's great that this is a possibility in this game. The game will undo all your work, all your hours of gameplay for this one mistake. I think she’s an amazing character (not even for mass effect, but for fiction in general. Femme fatale incarnate) and I wanted to see more of her story in 3 and what could’ve panned out with her sisters

In this case i think sheppard forgot a first rule about safe sex - in case of morinth the safe sex would mean an explosive collar on her neck linked to Sheppards bio-rhytm - should he die - the explosive collar goes off and takes the morinth's head for a ride :P
