I wonder... What if you actually recruited Okeer instead of Grunt? What kind of squadmate would he have been?
@windwind31708 жыл бұрын
Well he must've been a biological researcher and he would've helped us to deal with the Collector's poisoning bugs just like Mordin i guess.

Seamus McKenna as awesome as grunt is, okeer would honestly be more useful in terms of counteracting collectors and the then the reapers

Honestly, Okeer would likely have just been a worse Grunt in terms of combat ability. We're given no indication that he's one of those rare Krogan Biotics, and we have yet to see a Krogan using tech powers; besides, he's one of those Brute-Force-Researchers that Mordin despises, rather than having any real genius behind him. His knowledge of Collectors was likely limited to what he learned in his deal with them, which wouldn't be as helpful as what Mordin is able to figure out on his own. And like he said, all the tech he got from them was used up on Grunt. Frankly, we lucked out getting Grunt instead of Okeer. TIM/Kelly (she assembled the Dossiers, IIRC?) misjudged how useful Okeer would be, if you ask me. Getting anything useful out of that mission at all was a happy accident. And even then, some Fail!Sheps would decide the MegaKrogan was too dangerous to wake up.

Well, him being a warlord, I guess he would have considerable fighting abilities

It would've been fascinating, honestly. Not that Grunt wasn't, but the option would've been great (the possibility of getting there in time maybe dependant on a few other introduced choices on your approach to the base). Okeer could've had some uniquely weird squadmate powers, what with being such an odd krogan. He would certainly have one of those argument scenes with Mordin, like Jack has with Miranda or Tali with Legion. And think of the conversation with Wrex, or Wreav... and how different that mission would've been. My complete guess is it was probably an early thought to make it possible to get either, but then considered too much work for the available budget to go with. I could be completely wrong, but it had to've crossed their minds at least at some point surely.

@Warcrafthead24 Legion doesn't need a social network, he IS a social network.

i actually heard a line very similar to the "life signs failing" line from EDI once, it threw me off since it took me six playthroughs to hear it.

I hope, if they ever re-release Mass Effect 2, they include this dialogue, and allow you to basically recruit everyone in the order you prefer, rather than the game forcing you to take Garrus, Mordin, Jack, and Grunt first, then Samara, Thane, and Tali second, and then Legion last.

I always hated the forced order of recruitment. I also hated the forced missions.
@gamerguyraigh74734 жыл бұрын
@@spartanq7781 Agreed. There really is no reason for the forced order recruitment, nor the missions. They even included the DLC Arrival in the wrong spot. It was clearly meant to be a segue to ME3 and why Shep is incarcerated. IMHO It was likely not meant to be a DLC at all.

Use ME2RE mod
@gamerguyraigh74734 жыл бұрын
@@designtechdk I do use ME2Recalibrated. However, that sadly still does not allow Tali to be recruited until after Horizon.

There a mod for that. Early Recruitment. Unfortunately, doesn't help with Legion.

so instead of blanket assertions, the game actuelly limits the exposition to those Linley to know it? meaning you could realistically run a squad that hadn't heard of it? interesting
