Yep. Luckily I have the "negative method". I won't read the positive reviews of a game. Those are always just prase and polishing. I read the negative reviews. Those are usually more honest. They give the real good and the bad, most of the time there is "I would love to give a thumbs up, but" -reviews that are the most on point. I have regretted many games I have bought in my youth (now 46, sigh) because I bought them based on the hype. And I don't remember regretting ANY game I bought after reading a bunch of negative reviews and watched many videos about it. Anyway, no matter what the game is, if it has this DEI -crap (Didn't Earn It), I just won't buy it, won't play it. Never. And I never regret that decision. I have enough games on my PC, PS3, XBOX ,Nintendo, tabletop, boardgame etc that I can play them until I kick the bucket. Any new purchase I make is a statement, a vote with my wallet. I can also choose not to vote if the thing is not worth my money.

The custodians litteraly have the sisters if silence fighting next to them when they have to deal with demons or psykers, they don't need to add female custodians... In the lore (before some weirdo retconned it) the emperor only worked on male genetics to make warriors because they are physically stronger, which is also why, in the history of humanity, female warriors were an exception, not the rule, and always as a last resort. In the 40k lore they do exist but when it makes sense, female imperial guards, they fight with guns anyway so physical strength is not as much of a concern. The adepta sororitas, they are the fighting wing of the ecclesiarchy, they exist because the ecclesiarchy is forbidden by law to use 'men under arms', so they went for women to circumvent this, they are exceptionally well trained and use power armors to augment their strenght, which again makes sense. And female inquisitors exist but the inquisitors are always exceptional individuals, either psykers or freaks of nature, i don't think gender is much of a concern when you wield that kind of power.

Simple thing to slap them with. Where was it written about in the Horus Heresy? Point to a single instance of a female custodian in the Horus Heresy book series that lasted for something like 30 YEARS of book writing. Not something that was retconned in. Show it in the original book's pages. No digital accepted. Yes, this is why older books aren't able to be found in paperback by GW. They force you to go to the digital copies where they have edited the original author's works because they are ALLOWED to do so in the digital but not the print. They control the print only in availability, they are not allowed to alter it for future prints by contract. The contract lasts in perpetuity so they have stopped having older books be printed so they can change things on the digital copy. The lore is set. Also some new primaris or even new thing to allow it is just as bad. The Sisters of Battle already exist. Add on to them if they want. There WAS a version of the Sisters in lore a LONG time ago that went through the starting process astartes go through. Like they get the first 3 or 4 implants and then stop because anything more and genetically they would fall apart. So they essentially became close to the astartes scout troops. This was already in lore, and they had an even worse survival rate than males already have going through the process. GW needs to backtrack fast, stick to the old lore, and step on the throat of anyone even close to woke.

If you are against the concept of retcons, there are far bigger issues. 2- Unreliable narrator statement ("It is known". It is also "known" throughout the Imperium that there are only 9 primarchs). The same codex says that the process to create Custodes and the selection criteria for candidates is a mystery. Completely compatible with female Custodians if they are rare or a minority. Writers of the Horus Heresy novels almost added female Custodians +5 years ago, but it was shelved since female Custodian minis were not made.

A buddy of mine, former US marine that resides in Japan. His wife, who is about 5 years older than him (he's 2 years older than me), has been playing Warhammer since it first came out. She has a room full of shelves I've seen when I do video chats with them. And those shelves are full of about 95 percent Warhammer and Warhammer 40k stuff. I first heard about the female custodes through her when I was talking to a buddy and heard her swearing. She called up Games Workshop after getting blocked on Twitter. She spoke to a male kid, and after asking questions and explaining the lore to him, is told SHE is SEXIST against WOMEN because she is mad they were being progressive. She then told the kid he was talking to a woman, not that he'd know what that means since she told me she told him that westerners can't figure out what the two genders are much less identify them. She said that Warhammer just lost one of their most valued customers and that after she hangs up, for him to go up and tell his Mom hi. She WON'T be buying anything new, but is fortunately an artist that can more than create all she wants. And no, she won't be sending anything to any western countries.

I'm 31 years old. i found 40k at the tender age of 7, I'm an engineer and I've always enjoyed models. the figures, community, and lore are initially what brought me to Warhammer. i live in the south, there wasn't a huge following for things like 40k when i was younger. I've introduced many people to Warhammer over the past 2 and a half decades. while i will phase in and out of collecting and painting them, they have all remained pretty loyal followers. every single one of them is now distancing themselves from GW. i have a pretty busy life so i didnt hear about this, until i asked one of them about progress on the amazon series the other night because i have been optimistically looking forward to that series since i initially heard about it. 40k had a wonderful opportunity to become something huge, something that could have brought many new younger followers like me when i was a child. Im just not sure that is the case anymore. The revenue that this series(IF IT FOLLOWED THE LORE) could have brought GW would have astronomically surpassed the investments made by BlackRock as well as the perceived revenue that may have been made through political messaging. GW has steadily become more greedy over the past decade, and has actively been distancing themselves from their customers. They do this because they believe that most people that follow their product are loyal and devoted and will continue to follow regardless of the choices they make.

The issue is not about female Custodes. It's about changing the lore to please activists who aren't fans to attract more activists. It's about changing the core values of a franchise we love.
