This is without a doubt the best video about carpal tunnel I have ever seen on the internet. Wish you were closer to Louisiana I would love to get massage as too many problems going on with my carpal tunnel, radial tunnel and tennis elbow lol I got messed up my hands and arms bad... How can I find a knowledgeable and reliable massage therapist in my area can work on those issues? There are so many but who to trust?
@MassageTherapeutics9153 жыл бұрын
Are the injuries due to repetitive motion, injury or sports? You can search for a medical or neuromuscular therapist near you. If they have had the training they are probably good. Myofascial release will help too. I would ask lots of questions and see who’s the best fit for you. Kind of like when your shopping for a new car! Best of luck to you. Stretching & self massage of the flexors & extensors really helps too. 🤗
@bozkurtbozok45973 жыл бұрын
@@MassageTherapeutics915 Thank you for your reply, I appreciate you. All of the injuries are due to years of computer gaming(in the past ) and now work(in front of the computer designing ) None are related with injury or sports. So all gaming and work now. I have been trying stretching and self massaging and it does not seem to help much, like it feels a little better right after and it keeps coming back. After your message I have done little research and seems like no neuromuscular therapist in lafayette la. I will do a bit more research about medical or myofascial therapy. So got 2 quick questions for you, can my issues be healed permanently with a correct massage therapy without needing surgery? and last question is which method would be best for my case? Thank you so much, your videos are great, I subscribed!

This was a great watch. Informative and very relaxing. I'm in school now taking a few A&P courses, but will begin my courses for Kinesiotherapy in the fall, so it's neat to see someone else talking about things I have been learning about. I've had pain in my shoulder and forearms for about 5 years now I can't get rid of. I had a shoulder arthroscopy surgery last January that didn't help, but the pain in my foreaems is so much more chronic and painful. I've been to so many orthos, neurologists, etc. Many scans, tests, everything, and no one can figure out what causes my pain. It's just the top of my forearms mostly, from the elbow to the wrist. It affects everything; it's difficult to even hold a small book in bed. It just affects my entire life and I'm afraid I'll never figure it out it learn what is causing the pain. I'm hoping my studies can possibly help me learn more about my body and what I can do to prevent more injury, but mostly I just want the pain to go away. At any rate, great video and thanks for posting!
@MassageTherapeutics9153 жыл бұрын
Welcome to my channel Savage Sanity! Very original & intellectual name. I like it coz it sounds like a dichotomy! I’m sorry to hear about your forearm troubles! So I’m curious what they found in your shoulder? And why haven’t they found the source of pain weakness in the forearm. Without knowing what they have said or not said it’s just a guessing game. Has anyone mentioned carpal tunnel possibly? Has a massage therapist worked your flexors & extensor? Origins on the medial & lateral condyles & epicondyles? Has anyone checked the pronator teres that can put pressure on the median nerve sometimes. Did the doctor ever say anything about Thorasic outlet syndrome? Are you a female carrying a heavy bag over your shoulder putting pressure on the clavicle & ribs? Is your clavicle or Pec minor putting pressure on the plexus? So many questions sorry. I’m just trying to give you ideas of things to look for & ask your doctor. Are you a massage therapist because that could explain the forearm pain. I wish you continued knowledge so you can figure out what’s going on with you & feel better! Like Hippocrates said “physician heal thyself”
@savagesanity3 жыл бұрын
@@MassageTherapeutics915 Thanks for the reply! I am a male and I do IT work, which initially led me to think it might be carpal tunnel. But I have seen a hand specialist who looked at my forearms and said he didn't think that was the case. He mentioned a possible surgery to release the fascia, but after my shoulder arthroscopy made my pain worse on my shoulder, I'm hesitant to get surgery on any other part, especially my hand/arm since I play music and paint and I don't want to risk losing any fine motor skills. The shoulder arthroscopy was supposed to repair a very minor rotator cuff tear and shave some minor calcium deposits off the bone. I haven't had any massage therapist work with me. I've seen a chiropractor twice, but neither time did he perform an adjustment and said that because I don't have neck neck pain, he couldn't help (this is through the VA, so laziness is typical). I've had CT scans, MRIs, and x-rays on my shoulder, forearms, cervical spine, and brachial plexus. None of it pointed to any issue with my forearms. They've also done two nerve conduction studies and two EMGs, both of which they claimed were normal. That's why I'm confused; my orthos say it's neuropathic, my neurologists say it's orthopedic. I've done three rounds of physical and occupational therapy which included some dry needling and such, as well as continued at-home exercises. So far, no luck. I continue doing my own stretches and self-massages at home. Ar any rate, I'm hoping that things will eventually either be solved or that I can find something that helps as far as stretches/massages & self-therapy.
@MassageTherapeutics9153 жыл бұрын
@@savagesanity well you are very knowledgeable & have done your research! You’re right the rotator cuff repair should not be causing all this pain. With you telling me that you work IT, musician & Artist (that’s the intellectual part lol) it sounds like it could be over use! I would definitely find a good massage therapist that knows about medical, neuromuscular & fascia release! They will probably be able to help you more! Best of luck & thanks for answering my questions! I love to learn & do my best to help!

@MassageTherapeutics9155 жыл бұрын
Rahul Kumar I will write it down on our long list of “to do”videos. I think every client has different needs so I always ask them what I can do for them that day because even if they’ve been coming in for years that day they may need something different. Besides I feel that being of service is what it is about for me. You want to make sure and spend a little extra time on their problem areas. On a regular Swedish 1 hour massage I spend around 15 min on the face & neck 5 min on each arm & 10 min on each leg front & back and finally 15 min on the back. That adds to be an hour. If it’s a 90 min massage you have more time to add to their neck & back which usually need it more. I hope this helps you for now

Sahar K Thank you for your support. I will put your request on the list however it’s going to be a while. I can tell you that I use a lot of heat & ice with people with arthritis. Even though rheumatoid & osteo arthritis have different causes you treat them almost the same. You may use ice if they’re having a flare up or moist heat. Use Moderate to light pressure & speed. Always making sure your client is comfortable. When the joints are very deteriorated I find that moist heat helps relieve pain. Best of luck.

My first time checking you out Maria and you are wonderful!! Any advice on how to restore the pinch strength in your thumb and index finger? I have a slight case of anterior interosseous nerve syndrome. 🤔

I appreciate the compliment! I’ve had the same thing and my solution was to start using tools so I could cut back on using my thumbs. Also worked on the muscles of the thumb. You can find my tools if you want to check them out @ Massagetherapeutics915.com

Best on KZbin truly. I have had bursitis in my shoulder since I was about 15, is there any massage that would help it, or is it all inside my joints? Pain goes from top of neck down my arm, sometimes where I cannot move my arm or neck for weeks. 😞
