A Boeing order was to expect after a large Airbus order. Especially the 27 A350-1000 made me wonder how long it will take until we hear about a 777X order - order has to be restored! I still think the much heavier 777X will have an disadvantage compared to the composite A350. Time will show. By the time the 777-9s are delivered Airbus should have the second stretched A350 ready (hopefully R&R finally pushes the UltraFan). Regarding the larger seat count in the 777-9 it's important to sell the additional seat! A 777-9 flight operated at 90% load factor transforms into an A350 flight with 100% load factor, what is turning into a competitive edge for the A350.

@@patrickpeters2903would argue that the 787 competes with the A330 family instead of the A350 which competes with the 777s. The 787-10 might not be great for range but surely has good capacity and it’s great for high capacity mid range routes, United uses them loads for that sort of route. The A350 will sure have a large competitor with the 777x on the horizon now.

It is interesting to note that Customers have NOT cancelled their orders whatsoever despite all the delays!! What has made it all safe for Boeing is the economic downturn after the lockdown which has seen Global industries lost a lot of revenue and are now trying hard to make up for lost finances……therefore no Airline has been in a position to buy Brand New Aircrafts with money they Don’t have. Good for Boeing. Airlines are also loyal to their preferred manufacturer
@edwardwilcox6606
@edwardwilcox6606 Ай бұрын
Wishful thinking I imagine. I hope it does well but it has hurdles to get through. Certification isn`t a given, then there`s EIS which has the potential to bring up issues, then there`s the huge cost of this airliner which could limit it`s attractivness to many airlines, certainly US ones particularly when they don`t need such a large aircraft. Boeing though need a break, perhaps the B777X is the plane to kickstart their better fortune.

Glad to see that Boeing is still competing for orders and occasionally wins an order here and there. It is unfortunate that every little issue that happens to a Boeing plane, it is blown up in the media. These are machines.
