Saw a hack this week showing that a crib fitted sheet fits exactly over the backseat of a van/SUV seating area. Install first, then the car seats. Makes cleanup easy. Gather it and discard the « whatevers » and a quick launder and back in business. Hope it helps. :)

I tried the crib sheet in my nissan van, it helped but it wasnt that great a fit. It did help cleanup at least. I swore we wouldnt eat in van after cleaning it. Then had kids in an activity that fell right before lunch....yep, ate in van again so i was glad i tried the sheet trick. Might try a flat sheet next time. Or buy some cheap towels and use them strictly in my van.

They don’t recommend doing this unless it’s with a crash tested seat cover. You aren’t supposed to use any extra or non manufacturer items like strap covers and so on because they can increase ejection risk and infantile/toddler death in the event of an accident.

My mom passed away in November. I miss her so much! I’ve decided with the estate money that I’m going to get some new couches and really nice comfy chairs for my dining table. It will probably be the last one I will ever get. What I’d really like though is for my sweet mama to be able to just come visit me. One day I will be reunited with her and my dad. She would be happy for me to get furniture. 💗 I will get it from Costco.

Rachel I remember. I would buy a discount blanket from Walmart, snip holes for the seatbelts and put it over the backseat and put the car seat back. Didn’t stop the onslaught but contained the crazy.

This reminds me of my childhood so much. My dad was a stay at home dad and had to take all three of us kids to the grocery store. We had the same kind of assembly line dynamic you guys have, and we even had a specific way to get the grocery bags loaded into the cart. He also had us always hold onto the cart so he wouldn't lose us, and it's a habit I still have to this day anytime I go grocery shopping with anyone!

i love your freezer meals, i find that just for me eating them, i can break them into single serving containers and then stretch it even further for like 8 meals in the freezer so a few recipes i can make enough for a month or more.

I come from a family of 8 kids, and I love watching your videos - reminds me a bit of my childhood! We didn't have much money growing up, and never had big shopping trips like yours, though! Our parents always taught us that we could not ask for things when we went shopping, and we always thought it was because they just didn't want to hear all the noise and clamoring for things, but as I have gotten older, I think it was more because they really hated having to say no to us! Growing p in a large family is a blessing, and I have a feeling your kids will be like our family - we are all still very close, and more like best friends than siblings.

Recipe tip: When you make bone broth or beef/or chicken stock for soups, add a mirepoix mixture of diced celery, carrots, onions, garlic, parsely. The vegetables add extra nutrition, bonus! Plus the veggies add a wonderful, tasty flavor. I will make chopped up/ a finely diced mirepoix and add to quart freezer bags, freeze. A freezer bag of veg at the ready - to throw into soups, stews, meats, any recipes, or casseroles for a burst of nutrition and flavor. Flavor tomato sauces with cooked onions, garlic, 2 tbsp. sugar, and cooked, drained sweet italian sausage, add zucchini noodles, top with cheese. Also, zucchini can be watery - just like cabbage. Salt it at the last minute, adding salt adds in more watery veggie. The zucchini noodles are good in a Lasagna recipe instead of using a pasta. I make my lasagna half pasta for the family and half zucchini for the keto dieters.

As a Canadian viewer who spends a fair amount each month in groceries for my big family, this was the most realistic total I've ever seen. We don't have Sharp Shooter or other 'good deal' grocery stores here but we do have Costco. If I walk out under $600, I consider it a success lol. Thank you for sharing these videos with us. Oh I know about fridges.. we still have one that was given to us when we got married and moved into our first house.37 yrs ago.(it will be 38 yrs ago Aug.7th) they just don't make um like they use to. Travis must have a really good job! You are working too selling your books and advice for cooking for a big family. I cannot even imagine being able to expend all the energy as you do. It takes me all day to make a dinner for 2, but when I cook I make a lot and we eat on it for 3 to four days. Sometimes I, freeze some as I get tired of eating it so many times. One of your days is like two weeks for me! I am 73 now and have a disabling diagnosis so now you may understand why it can sometimes take me all day to get a meal ready. Almost forgot to say that I have learned so much from you and I know that all of your followers are learning from you as well! I never have visitors so I do enjoy your chatting!

Great haul!!! FYI..... For years I used to delivered pans of cooked food for our church. My husband bought a rubber liner with about a 2 inch lip all around for the back of our suburban. It happily caught any spills or drips and could be lifted out and hosed off. Got it at a car parts store. Dont remember the brand but I am on my 2nd one in a new suburban. It is wonderful!!

Oh jamerill, been there , done that. Momma of 8 here. I also chose our big family van with the rubber flooring . I sweep it out and even bring my bucket and mop out to the driveway and bleach it like it's the kitchen floor. Big family fun!
