Exactly a year ago my husband and I did a camping trip here in Australia. We live in a Southern state, on the ocean. We drove 3 days to the Darwin in the Northern Territory, visiting cousins and spent 10 days driving home. The Outback in winter gets down to freezing, and it even received snow 2 weeks ago. Darwin on the other hand is in the tropics and in winter the temperature was over 95°f. We camped in our tent. Can you imagine how much fun we had packing temperature appropriate clothing. To compare it with America, we drove from Helena, Montana to Houston, Texas and back in 2 weeks. We actually did that road trip 8 years ago, but over a 6 week period, to visit more family.

I price toilet paper by the square as well. I have learned, though, that you sometimes get what you pay for so we do pay for a decent paper rather than using too many squares to wipe!

You'll love supermarket pricing in Australia. Supermarkets have either price per kilogram or price per 100 grams. Toilet paper is priced per 100 squares. The prices are the ones on the shelf. They also have the full price of the item, making product comparison much easier.

So my friend who gave the recipe does different then we do. I put 2 c sugar or honey in gallon jar. Pour a teakettle of hot water over. Then add 1 T of salt and 2 packets of vitamin c my friend uses minerals. I don’t have on hand right now. Then fill 3/4 way cold water once sugar melted. Then add 3 c lemon juice and 3/4 c apple cider vinegar. I mix all this up and make into 2 gallon jars filling the other jar half full with mixture then the rest of the way with water.
