Hey Legend! Thank you for solving my complete mess of a campaign! Since you gave me the new save file a few hours earlier I was able to witness your work and I was really curious how you managed all that. I usually watch all of your videos but this one got me a lot more excited ;) I can explain the realiability part: I was actually allied with I think Morghur, Beastman. Then his chaos corruption annoyed me. Somehow Ikit was right next to him at the end of one turn and well I thought its a good moment to get rid of him. It was not. Then I attacked the Fay Enchantress and was doing very well until she invited the high elves to join her fight. My main problem in this campaign is that the high elves are not at war with anyone else. Noone. No pirates, no Nekhati, no Dark elves. Nobody is fighting them. So they took the invitation and decided to sent ALL of their units at once. Before the video starts I actually managed to fight off 3-4 armys allready. I was in Bilbali with Ikit and tried to attack an army in the water... I wanted to back out of this idea - and since there was no space left in the water in front of Bilbali my army went all the way around and ended where it was when the video starts. I'd have never thought of saving Ikits army the way you did. When I first checked the save file I was shocked to see that you had the whole army alive. I tried to fight manually but as you allready said the open water maps are not good for weapon team armys. Ironically its all the trees that messed with me. I tried to take the L and safe the campaign by rebuilding ikits army but was simply overwhelmed. The campaign is 71 turns in and you really saved it. I am very happy and once again thank you very much!!

Dude don't make alliance with factions you are going to betray unless it's for stealing their legendary heroes.

I'm not an expert, but I would advise not mixing stormvermin with poisoned wind mortars and globadiers. Their AOE and mediocre accuracy means they would probably be hitting your frontline troops too. At that point it's free value for the enemy. Better to do it with cheaper units like skavenslaves or clanrats, but even then I would probably choose different ranged support like an extra unit or 2 of jezzails and maybe some warpfire throwers. Same potential for friendly fire, but a little more reliable than mortars and globadiers. To use stormvermin, I'd go with more conventional ranged options like gutter runners (not an expert so don't know all the skaven units. Don't remember their top tier ranged infantry) with plague claws, a couple of units of jezzails for single target, then something to force breakthroughs like rat ogres or something.

​@@torquevonthorne948 You can absolutely make alliances with factions you want to betray, but you *must* wait 10 turns after you make the alliance to break it, and then another another 10 before declaring war. I find that this is actually a very good way to throttle how many wars you're in at any given time, just sell them a settlement with some red buildings and get basically any alliance you want. Then when you're actually ready to wage war on them, get all of your armies prepped and break the alliance.

Then, when I want their land, I just drag them into a bunch of wars that they lose and take over whatever land they used to own. Is it the optimal play? Absolutely not. Can I bring myself to actually backstab a long-time ally? Not a chance.

Oh, the irony of watching this as Fableheim is streaming a Kairos campaign and as he prepares for the hammer of the Ultimate Crisis to drop…having a singular army guarding the Galleon’s Graveguard from three different High Elf factions, having sent five-six different armies at him all at once to take it back on Avelorn’s behalf…while being very closely allied with Clan Skrye (who ofc, are about to turn on him)

Galleon's Graveyard brings some ptsd memories, when tbe Ulthuan campaign of Noctilus didn't go so well and Tyrion, Alistair and Alarielle sent 10 stacks to GG, and after I just managed those, there was always 4 stacks coming in. The way they land on different sides of GG makes it really annoying trying to defend it.

The Skaven Ultimate Crisis works differently to the rest of them, They spawn natural to all factions, 10 turns later, they spawn a 2nd set of armies and turn hostile

@@FantomMisfit depends on many factors from the vampirates invading to N'Kari within their territory and also Belakor may appear around turn 10 /20 .They have a lot of threats right from the start .Dark elves are no longer major threat they have their own problems like Taurox and Valkia+Sigvald . I had campaigns where Valkia wipes out Malekith before turn 30

This campaign looks like a mess. I usually can get on the good side of the orks and vampires even after fighting them so I gobble up some their settlements then make peace with them then the order factions seem them as weak and declare war and the 2 AI start bashing their heads together and I sneak in to feast upon the carcasses. I even had one campaign where the dwarves and wood elfs starting fighting each other which was great for me and I got burned down their forests while they where away in the mountains and that left them with weak outposts which I then took over.

@lysander7673 I'd recommend trying ikit claw on wtw2 and just play around with them. You'll make mistakes but it's fine, turtle and remember ambush success is your best friend along with walls

When this tech is done you can gain a follower for hero and lord that increase your research rate when you win a battle, so when this research is done everytime you win a battle you have a chance to increase your research rate by 10%. The game doesn’t tell the player about this but this tech is OP

There are 2 main reasons I can't stand playing legendary. One is the goofy battle realism that doesn't make anything more realistic except annoying the player. And two, the performance from auto saving all the time. If the game can't handle saving, then maybe cut that out. So i always play on very hard to cut the annoyance down. I find there are many other things that annoy me when playing, so stacking these on top of it makes me hate the game more. It is a shame because i love this game. i have 6000 hours between 2 and 3, so i dont want to hate the game.

Increasing TWW3's difficulty cranks up the already frustrating game mechanics to 11, *and* completely removes the unpredictability of manual battles, and therefore any sense of fun. Playing on N or Hard is honestly a more enjoyable experience overall.

You said a weapons team army is bad for defending, curious, what would actually be a good defending army for skaven?

@LegendofTotalWar can you start a survival campaign series with any or all historical total war titles? The challenge is this: with your chosen faction, you can only expand to the bounds that your chosen faction reached. There may be some liberties with factions such as Scotland, who either were subjugated by an eternal enemy (in this case England) or never conquered anything. In this case the faction may conquer enemies that tried to invade thier lands (in Scotland’s case England/Scandinavia). For added difficulty a province is de facto locked to invasion until the year it was conquered. For more complexity, provinces may only be conquered within that year. From there your only job is to survive as many turns as possible. Good Luck I hope to see this soon!

This was my 3rd "real" legendary campaign where I wouldnt get crushed in the first 20 rounds. Still a beginner. This save file is a bit older, I have since then managed to make long victorys with Grombindal, Eltharion, Changeling (well that wasnt hard) and all 3 of the chaos dwarfes on legendary difficulty. It's full of mistakes but the scale of the invasion and my mistakes made me think that Legend could probably use it to show how its done when everything is on fire. I wasnt able to save the campaign on my own, I put around 10 more hours in different trys.

Hey its me and no I really did not. I fucked up with fighting fay enchantress. She invited Eltharion and Tyrion to join her fight. Problem is that all of the high elves had NO enemy. They are not at war with anyone else. So they packed their things and sailed over to me :) Before the video starts I had allready beaten a few armys. Because of my noobish controls I somehow managed to move ikits army to where the video started. I wanted to back out of a fight I wanted to start and since there was no space in the army in front of the city, Ikits army moved around all these armys into the open water..

just because of that "save" stutter i don't play on legendary. people that will save-scum will find their way no matter what. why enforce it in such a bad way... its singleplayer game for god sake, and also from technical point of view that save game functionality could've been run in the background (async) but they probably thought themselves for people that use alt+f4. its childish..

i dont understand how people have so little territory at turn 70. you have to be deliberately trying to give the ai more time to build up to have this little so late. hell im usually closing in on long victory by turn 70-80 and I wouldnt even call myself a good player Ive seen far better than me.
