Do you struggle to escape side control?? It probably all stems back to this one crucial detail...

This is one of those details that you secretly hope stays under the radar so that the fewest number of people possible are doing this to you. Great video :)

This is awesome detail on the hand and forearm placement. Definitely much more effective when you can grip the gi with hand at shoulder.

I've said it before, but you're an excellent teacher. Explaining why something works is far more valuable than simply showing the technique.

Makes perfect sense! Thank you. I've always had issues with this and wondered why it was called framing when I felt like I was using muscle there?

How do you get this frame in place in a real scenario? I feel like it would be hard to set up without the elbow slipping and getting caught in head & arm choke. By the way, I highly appreciate videos about these small details. Lots of videos just go into the escape, but they won't work without these frames and concepts.

You can actually push the elbow through easier for an arm triangle or just to get your partners arms at or over their head for better side control, once your partners arm extends past 90 degrees. It is a timing thing, so play around with it a little bit. You have to be very aggressive with the palm strike to back of tricep right below the elbow.

My instructor taught us this and then taught us how to wrist lock sloppy side control frames straight after. Needless to say, the entire club has good frames now like shown in the video.

you have instructors that are good and instructors who shouldn't be teaching jj. I've seen my fair share of jj video's on the internet over the years and based on my personal experience with jj, i can tell you there are some instructors on the internet that makes you wonder if they're legit, because their teching techniques are bad.

Appreciate this detail! Do you recommend any rolling escapes that involve rolling your partner over you and then ending up on top?

That looks dangerous. I would easily pass my head and press against the triceps. Then the arm is stuck. That is how I "gift wrap"

If it work I will subscribe, and delete all my 50 Jiu jitsu chanells... I think it will not work for me, easy to get triangle choke.. The head of opponent exactly on point of elbow and easy just slip to armpit and chock me out.
