We’ve been in some pretty shady places back in the day. Ma Murphy’s down the Barbary coast. 😂 The mighty Tin Pan Alley nail it every time.

Loved this one. You know we have a big perspective on this too. We play covers every weekend and have released more music than anyone. I don't understand the divide and snobbery as if it's one or the other. The value is in learning how other people write and craft songs. You do that via playing covers and learning about your favourite artists. The Lottery Winners and you guys have have had similar trajectories. It's an amazing foundation for any band to have. P.S We are playing The Pub in Lancaster on NYE haha...

I like all music played live Anyone having a go fair play to them. Difference for me is cover bands are normally free to see and bands playing their own music aren’t

You got me in to all sorts of bands with your covers. Black Stone Cherry, Blackberry Smoke, Airbourne. Remember you used to nail the seeker by the who 👍👍

Putting your own spin on a cover is the gateway drug to writing your own songs, in the best way.

Great insight lads. I have some fond memories of places like the Station & British Legion in Carnforth & Trimpell in Morecambe. Loving the current stuff & looking forward to the new album coming out. Keep up the cracking work.

Played in cover bands for most of my axe-playing life, however did start with originals though, now doing both for maximum benefit LOL

exactly the same in our area, about a dozen bands in rotation round the pubs, mostly playing the same songs. One of them got so sick of us shouting "Do Crazy Tarin!" that they eventually caved in :D

I was recently looking to join a covers band, but ended up starting an originals project. I would like to do some covers, but I don't think we'd be able to agree on which ones to do. It works pretty well from a writing perspective, but if we all picked the songs we'd want to do then it would make for an interesting set - Sabbath into some Green Day into Billy Talent into a Wildhearts B Side. I reckon it would do my guitar playing no end of good though, to have to learn these things. I'm such a lazy git sticking to my comfort zone...

I've had some great nights watching cover bands. But you need to do a video in tribute bands. I've seen some excellent ones for example The Jamm Stillmarillion Moving Pictures UK Pink Floyd Experience

It's crazy that so many people are quick to put down cover bands, but if you're relatively unknown/new in the music scene and play your own stuff, people complain that they want songs that they know 😂 There are only two venues in town (that I know of) that promote original music nights

Everyone has to start somewhere, Doing covers is a way to learn the system and interacting with the crowd. Love them or hate them Nickleback have always played a song by someone else at one of their gigs. They did "Dont look back in anger" with the Lottery Winners this year.

In a cover band myself with 4 others and we've been told we're the highest paid band on the Carlisle pub scene and still don't get £100 each, definitely more for enjoyment than making money, pubs just want duos and solo acts nowadays Chuffed to bits when you played Highway star at HRH years ago on stage 2😀

Nothing up with cover bands , as long as the members can play and perform proficiently . Yes they aren't the Original Artists , but tickets for their concerts are extortionate and by the time You add travel costs and beer money plus overnight stop overs, it rapidly becomes unaffordable for many , years ago in the early nineties I remember paying just over £30 to see the Stones and that included a coach . A coach & tickets to see ACDC was less than £40 , and the average pint was under £2 and quite often as little as a £1 . A couple of Years ago I paid £26 to see Creedence Clear Water Revived at the Platform , beer was £6 a pint in a nasty bendy plastic glass , I still enjoyed Myself and as usual ended up being the first on the dance floor & the band were very good , the drummer excelled and even took the role as lead singer and he rocked it as a John Fogarty substitute. As long as people enjoy their performances Cover bands are OK by Me . A Question each for Baz and Adam , What are Your favourite Bands and what are Your favourite songs from their repertoire .Thanks Guys , You guys ROCK .

Cover bands are fine I'm a unconvinced about tribute bands.
