You are a designer's dream. I am a designer and I cannot get enough of your videos. I flipped over your High Georgian.

Yes about interior designers!!!! Because I ‘ve looked at the remodeling projects were designers ignored an element and it threw off the design.
@BrentHullАй бұрын
Agreed. Thx.

Most Excellent. Studying the past or what came before you. Same applies all things example music you have to study the past Classical, Blues, Jazz etc other wise you have no foundation to build upon. Thank you.

Great example. Thanks for sharing.

I've come to think of these principles as not so much about tradition, or going to the past, as it is relearning valuable nearly lost principles that solved many human needs: a living or working space that is comfortable, enjoyable, and pleasing not just to the body, but to the mind. It is an actual human need that today is mostly ignored, or worse, rejected. Proportionality is not just decorative. And I think pretty much all modernist architects and their fan club do think it's "merely" decorative and thus should be ignored for the literally all-important value of novelty. They also do not believe genuine aesthetics is a thing, they think it's a fetish of the past. They're wrong on all counts.

Well said!! Thx.

Agree will everything you said, Ron. Also, the first Modernists were educated in the Classical system and still used the scalar and proportional relationships of the Classical, minus the decorative elements.
@RonRobertson-lafranceАй бұрын
@@christopherzehnder Yes, I imagine they had to be at the time. Certainly can't say that for the ones of today!
@christopherzehnderАй бұрын
@@RonRobertson-lafrance I agree. I’m an architect by trade and colleges haven’t taught proportion systems in decades. And it shows in the monstrosities that pass for most modern architecture today.
@RonRobertson-lafranceАй бұрын
@@christopherzehnder I couldn't agree more with your statement. But bravo that you're an architect and you care about it. You're definitely needed!
