I think you are way too optimistic about the state of the art AI. There's a huge disillusion at the moment with AI in medicine, same goes for Natural Language Understanding, which is necessary for fully automated customer service. There's a place for automation in terms of making people more efficient, and yes, there are still services like the ATM example that still need automation, even if there's no advanced AI involved.
