"On the first part of the journey I was looking at all the life There were plants and birds and rocks and things There was sand and hills and rings..." 🙂 Om the 100 bpm exercise, I kept expecting the Em to turn into whatever that 2nd chord in _Horse With No Name_ is... D-something over 9 or whatever it is -- I know you've done a lesson on it..

As a 65 yr old beginner i loved this lesson couldn't keep up with the chord changes but loved it anyway. definitely something to aspire too as a short term goal . my aim would be to accomplish this in 3 months time. Making the chords is not the problem its the changes in time to the beats have added this lesson to my daily practice schedule hope you don't mind ,and i am not breaking any copyright laws.

I just started learning to Play Sugar Sugar By The Archies The strumming pattern is tricky ! There is a cool little riff too ! (the riff is optional ) And the chord progression is tricky too !There are 2 patterns one a little simpler than the other ! The more difficult pattern sounds much better , but according to videos I viewed all the teachers said it took them time to master the technique ! Have you ever attempted to play the song ?
@LaurenBateman5 ай бұрын
I do know the song. I played it many moons ago with a student. I will have to see if I still have the chart.

As always an excellent tute. I leant the two strumming patterns I know using the metronome as you described, varying the tempo. However this exercise is excellent because it covers multiple patterns. So I'll definitely be adding it to my daily routine after the finger stretches. Thanks Lauren

You're a rock star figuratively and literally! I do find the exercise difficult in being consistent about it, but have been practicing on it and improving. I find it easier to do 3/4 time though, for some reason.

You are a wonderful teacher and I am learning a LOT watching your videos. I am a older, older learner. Wish I would have started years ago but that's water under the bridge. As a older learner the metronome is difficult to hear when strumming and watching video. Drum machine works a lot better for me, plus it feels more real if you know what I mean. Its just a suggestion from me too you. Either way works, right?!

Hi Lauren, I just bought into the strumming and faster better chords courses. They do look good. I had lessons a few years ago but never got enuff dexterity and speed but I did learn where a lot of chords are and have a bunch of songs all tabbed out to work on so definitely not a waste. What drew me in aside from your teaching style is who could possibly not be interested in lessons from a teacher with a g5420t hangin on the wall. First guitar I ever bought was an electromatic 5420. You ever play it? Looks like it has dynas the pickups I'd like. As far as music I mainly like its country country rock an bluegrass. You do any molly tuttle like crooked tree or the super fast olympia washington. Well ill get started in the morning....

I'll start using this as my practice routine. My question is moving my 3rd finger 1st going from G/D works well but I'm faster moving my 1st 2 fingers 1st from D/G works. It's the same D/C / C/D. Is this ok or is it best to learn 2b consistent by moving 3rd finger always 1st? Just want to learn the right way the 1st time. Enjoying your 7 level system. Thanks.
