It emphasizes pronunciation skills (repeating slowly), while the under titles allow the student to grasp how Swiss German ‘grammar’ is working over standard German form. This video is so incredibly useful, thank you for all the videos you make - I've been living in Switzerland for nearly two years and am finally about to start learning Hochdeutsch properly (aber ich kann ein wenig Schweizerdeutsch sprechen).. Hello mam ... please i need your help i am a new refugee in swiss and i am so confused any dialect should i learn so I asked a Swiss person, and he said that within the German side, the dialects in the cantons differ from each other and do not have any rules governing them. However, with regard to the language of government places, official papers, and school textbooks, they are in the German language used in the state of Germany, and you can learn the German language used in Germany And the Swiss will understand you and respond to you in the same language, but the language of the street will be among the Swiss only , so is it true or no

Hi there and welcome to Switzerland 🩷 Yes, that's exactly true. You'll be fine if you just learn German. All written documents are in German and Swiss people understand German well. But if you'd like to be able to understand Swiss people talking to each other, then learning Swiss German can be very helpful. It will also make you feel less isolated if you understand our dialect. In which canton do you live?

You consider it ugly, since you can't understood the same. But in real sense its melody is sexier than that of hoch german.
